Had a couple of fellas make it up to Joe Rich via McCullough Road and they said they passed people camping up that way and there were a lot that had fires going this morning!

Hopefully they reported them.

However it appears at this point it's just the latest fire that was started by an idiot carelessly discarding thier cigarette out a vehicle window. I have to question the mental compacity of anyone who tosses thier cigarette out their window at the best if times. But during this time of year the person should be charged with attempted arson even if it doesn't start a fire.

People still don't seem to get the message.....shame & I think the fines should really make a dent in ones bank account. Up the fines so others will think to not follow these fools lead.

Well said indeed, even $300.00 is a joke. Aye starting a fire could very well cost millions.

It should be mandatory to either help fight a fire or help someone who has lost their home to a fire.

Huh? Bad idea. Firefighting is dangerous, it should be left to the professionals.

They could do any backup work to help the professionals. Nothing dangerous but something so they realize the stupidity of their actions.

It would probably help a bit if they didn't call it a camp fire ban, but rather simply a fire ban. Too many think like the following:
camp fire ban? > I'm in my back yard/not camping = it's OK

Still, stupid will be stupid.

...funny - we were just talking about this exact thing this morning...why not call for a ban on any and all open burning - including all campfires and backyard pigs/chimineas...

...and because you're wondering - this is a backyard "pig"...
