Naramata Fire

A new fire started in Naramata near the KVR trail and growing. Hopefully they can tackle that one soon!

I saw this on my commute. It was quite far up directly across from Summerland. I could see one structure shining about a a kilometre south of it other wise it looked to be just up in the middle of the forest.

Maybe I'm just looking at a cloud but I think I see smoke coming over the mountain from what appears to be naramata?

It's too hard to tell. I was watching from Smith Creek in West Kelowna and could see a bunch of smoke rising behind OK mountain park but now I'm in kelowna and I can't see it from here.

I believe what you are seeing is smoke drift from a major fire on the US side. I have been observing it for a couple days now on my patrols.

If it were that muCh smoke and a new fire you find it here soon as it is reported:

The Naramata Fire Department responded to a grass fire on Wiseman Place around 5:45 p.m., Saturday afternoon.

The fire on a hillside behind a home was quickly extinguished before it could spread to any houses in the area.

There are a number of homes on the street where the fire started.

The cause of the blaze is believed to be someone in the neighbourhood target shooting.

The cause has not been confirmed by the fire department. Castanet will provide more details as they come available.

Yes that's what it looked like drip. I thought it was much closer, it must be very large.

It looked far closer to me yesterday too. I thought it was in the marron valley, twin lakes area.

Big, in Washington state right now, appears to be getting redefined by a fire west of Twisp and south of Stehekin, right above the town of Lucerne, but you can see the southern portion of the newby lake fire burning south of the border.
