Watched the fire a few minutes ago, the wind is causing the fire to flare up on the southern flank, a couple of spots higher up are flaring up. There is also lightning in the background probably towards Falkland area.

Just got in from a trip out to see it, what a sight.

Definitely if someone has the means to buy a telescope, this is the time to do it. I'll try and get mine out for tomorrow!

It's just a screencap of the Kelowna Airport webcam. There's a link to it (and a bunch of others) right here on Castanet. (home page, bottom, under the "Media" header) They can be handy. You can see views of the smoke plume from a couple of them; I think the north-facing airport one is best. (the one quail keeps reposting)

Going home from work last night, my view of the fire was pretty awesome. Tonight, I couldn't see a thing. IDK if it was because of smoke or less intensity or how it's moved; probably a combination of all of the above.

Lots of lightning downtown Kelowna right now, mostly looks like sheet lightning now though, but lots of if. I don't think sheet lightning is dangerous for forrest fires?

Just got up to close all windows ,smoke is drifting south now and saw the lightening!

There's more than sheet lightning out there right now. Saw a couple of ground strikes to the south of town. Looks like some more on the way according to the weather radar. http://weather.gc.ca/radar/index_e.html?id=XSS
Would really hate to be working under those trees with lightning around.

I took a look at the weather radar images from last night and it looks the thunderstorm and rain just missed the fire area.
