Steve's coming to Shelter Bay!
Steve will be in Kelowna and he'll go out to Shelter Bay for a photo op at the fire for the campaign. I hope he turns around and tells the fire to get the hell outta here.

Just need former mayor Rob Ford to show up and the reincarnation of Larry, Curly and Moe will be complete.

Funny that the fire in Nelson is bigger and more threatening and he's not going there.

What's funny about it?
Nelson didn't have close to 300 homes burn in 2003, in fact I don't know of any place in Canada that lost that many homes in a fire, so considering it's in the same neck of the woods as that fire, as well as other major ones, I don't find anything too unusual about that at all.
Between the 2003 Okanagan Mountain fire, the Westbank fire, Terrace Mountain, and now this one, it's clear that when it comes to threatening property on a large scale, we live in California north so naturally there's more of a concern.
If you're basing your remark on the size of the fire alone, then I guess Harper should be going to Saskatchewan.

Exactly, he's coming to a known Conservative Stronghold to observe a smaller, less threatening fire than lots of other fires around the area.
350 homes were evacuated in Nelson to the 70 here.
Its a photo op for a trailing political party and you're paying for it.

Meh.
In the other thread somebody is complaining "Hey, with all the fires our there, where's Stephen Harper, why isn't he here to show leadership and support?".
Damned if you do, damned if you don't kinda of a deal.

The Kelowna fire is small but it's in the news because - it's Kelowna.
I'm actually surprised (and meh) that Steve is showing up - he must be really desperate for press. It's just the sour bite that after paying for all those tax electioneering ad's the Canadian taxpayer is still helping Steve get elected.

That sound you heard was a collective "face slap" by the few conservatives left in the area. Could he be any more offensive?

Does this mean that perhaps the polls are showing falling numbers for Cannon? a cry for help?
