Smoke behind Glenrosa

Post by burbman »

Does anyone know anything about the orange smoke coming from the mountain behind Glenrosa? It looks like a pretty big fire but I'm not hearing anything on any news channels.

Saw it too - looks close and now I can smell fresh smoke across the lake in the mission (edited; again smell smoke)

It must be from the Trout Creek fire in Peachland.

Drip Torch - an upright and steadfast keeper of the flame, but when tilted sideways the contents spill and then our destiny is in the wind...

When did Trout Creek move to Peachland? I thought that it was South of Summerland.

The reference to Peachland had me confused too. The photo looks more like Peachland area than the Trout Creek area also. The reference to Nikwala Mtn places the location south of Summerland and actually closer to the West Bench area of Penticton. That area is a stones throw to Trout Creek.

Castanet updated their story and it now says Summerland.

They're getting closer but its really not even Summerland. Tis on the Northeast slope of Nkwala Mtn and still a long ways from Trout Creek.

There was a small fire in the Faulder / Fish Lake area of Meadow Valley (ie behind Summerland, wrapping around towards Peachland). Is that the same fire you're thinking of? That one was put out right quick, but the initial smoke would have looked "behind" peachland-ish...

No, the other one was 9 days ago in between Summerland and Penticton.

The Fish Lake Road fire was different and a couple of days ago.
