Smoke & your kids.
Please try to keep your kids (especially babies) out of the smoke.
The smoke is bad for us adults but is hell on young growing lungs,
A known carcinogen wood smoke shortens the lives of those who cook over open wood fires.
Turning on your furnace fan will help, or taping a furnace filter to a box fan helps too.
Try to keep those young lungs healthy, indoor games, books and the internet are much better options than running around in smoke.

I was going to ask, "how are people coping with the on-going smoke issue"?
I'm keeping my cat indoors, much to her distress.

As WW3 develops, no one is going to be dissing the "preppers." What have you done?

More smoke in my house than out
I have learned that to be with those I like is enough.

No smoke in my home, of course no windows open and doors only coming or going. AC unit is set on recycle so no outside draw.

Re: Smoke & your kids.
We are pretty much closed up, with a box fan and filter cleaning the air.
Worked outside yesterday for a couple of hours, but my respirator is not a very good one so had to quit.
Again today for an hour with no respirator but had to give it up.

Adult Daughter was suffering headache & sore throat a number of days back, is okay now. Rest of the Family is holding up rather well, things being what they are re: the smoke.

Where does the outside draw come from? My furnace is inside as are all return air vents where draw occurs. The outside unit is only connected to inside unit by the refrigerant lines or am i missing something?

Maybe it recirculates. I suppose if the furnace isn't on then you don't need outside combustion air?

My A/C is wall unit, so either its set to take air from outide or inside. So outside draw would bring smoke filled air into my home.
Does clear that up for you
