Shelter & soup kitchen open in Tonasket

Washington is having an incredibly bad year with fires. One of our own, ferri, is right in the middle of things, this is her home area. This forum is to provide a meeting spot for those caught up in the storm, with information, resources, updates, and just sharing information. Please welcome our neighbours.

QueenK got some pictures of the outside of this building when she and Mr. QueenK came down to visit. it's an amazing place. i really do love small towns. :)

Small towns are the BEST, and your whole area is spectacularly beautiful, truly lovely.

i have been amazed at the people that are coming to help here. people from the Seattle area are loading trucks with hay, horse feed, bottled water, etc. and driving over here to deliver things. there was a man that showed up from the coast to fight fire, was told he didn't have the proper training, so he just started driving around and putting out spot fires he found. it's a nice feeling. :) it really does restore your faith in humans!

People really pull together at times like this, it seems!

And I'll bet the bottled water from Seattle is Perrier on ice, with a lemon twist, lol.
