The Little White Mountain fire has grown over four times in a couple hours, and now sits at 130 hectares.

Melissa Klassen, fire information officer, said air support services are having difficulties taking water from Okanagan Lake to fight the fire, due to boat traffic.

She is requesting boaters stay out of the lake, between the William R. Bennett Bridge and Okanagan Mountain Provincial Park, so the air tankers can safely get the water they require.

I think they are concerned.

Nope. I think they are VERY worried about it. That's way so many planes are on it

There's no risk to human property. They'll put out any fire near a city, threat or not.

And I don't think they're worried, the firefighters know what they're doing.

That's what they thought in 2003 and then those 2 fires, Chute Lake + the one heading south in OK Mountain Park joined. Then all hell broke loose.

My father was a firefighter. He was worried every time there was a fire

They should be worried every time there is one, the wind can change so fast and then the stupid Fing boaters in the way on the lake don't help

I'm going to assume it is above the fire guard from 2003, so if it does burn down hill it should hit both the fireguard then the old burn in myra-bellvue park which wont give it much fuel to burn towards town.

There's 12 years of new growth and dry grass/brush in the burned off area!
