They have overused that word so much that we've all tuned it out. Even when the forests are at their normal dryness, it's called "tinder dry."

i know what pisses me off.

A winery I have connections with had lost out in 40 grand worth of projected sales due to the media. They have been spinning it in such a way that everybody in Alberta thinks he whole valley is on fire.

The tourism marketers kinda shot themselves in the foot by pretending that the fires are having no effect on tourism.

When that first headline came out, "smoke not affecting tourism" thingy, I just about coughed up a hairball.

Did they think they were preaching down to kindergarten kids? "Not affecting tourism"? What the HELL? No, I thought the smoke was increasing tourism and more so in Chelan! Cuz you know, this is how tourists want to spend their hard earned dollars, breathing in smoke and pretending it's okay to have smarting eyes and soar throats while on vaca.
As WW3 develops, no one is going to be dissing the "preppers." What have you done?

Tinder is a word that adequately describes forests in extreme fire hazard:

tinder
[tin-der]

noun
1. a highly flammable material or preparation formerly used for catching the spark from a flint and steel struck together for fire or light.

2. any dry substance that readily takes fire from a spark.
