Did you know that on the range for beef cattle, there's several killed every year by predators. Isn't that just as bad?

Nope; that's called natural selection/survival of the species/circle of life, whatever you want to call it.

These animals, as has already been pointed out have no say and a re merely doing what they were trained to do and it is all in the name of entertainment.

I suppose you're a fan of the Omak suicide run?

I'm sorry I couldn't resist. You need to get out more. The score is: Humans - 1; Lions - 1.

Will you be protesting yourself?

Has there ever been an animal killed during these races at the IPE?
Nobody wants to hear your opinion. They just want to hear their own opinion coming out of your mouth.

Thank you so much for giving up your seat. Without your sacrifice I might not have been able to enjoy some of the activities and culture of the western hemisphere we occupy. Can I assume you will not be taking a seat at any thoroughbred horse races as well because I enjoy that tradition as well occasionally?
Oh, and BTW, I still enjoy a good BBQ steak as well. You?
Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.

The problem with the gene pool is that there is no lifeguard.

A lot of dots being connected just because I'm not a fan or into rodeo's/stampede. I'm not about tell people to go or not go, that is totally up to them.

Tony wrote:How long ago was that? The rodeo has been part of IPE for 116 years, and I know the rodeo has been part of it for at least 35-40 years, and probably longer.

For all you rodeo haters - don't go. And since when do they shoot horses during a chuckwagon race? That wouldn't be beneficial to winning at all. Unless you've seen one, don't comment. These are held in the arena are are really fun to watch. This isn't Calgary Stampede calibre chucks.

It was added in mid to latter 1990's.

Horses get injured in rodeos as often as they get injured while running around in a field, or while being ridden on a trail. Get a grip.

Again though, one activity is natural and one is forced upon them and is decidedly unnatural.

Wouldn't be surprised if the rodeo lover on here are the ones bitching and moaning about banning circuses because the animals are in cages all the time, and elephants go bizzerk. People have finally come to their collective sences as to the value of circuses, now, it's time to take a serious look at the ugly side of rodeos. I think they're both in the same class, and should both go the way of the doe doe.

Nah - I've never bitched about the circus animals - there's lots of other entertainment in a circus. Same with rodeos - no need to ban every event.
Truths can be backed up by facts - do you have any?
