Upper Smith Creek

Post by Lazarus »

Several fire trucks have gone up to upper Smith Creek Rd this afternoon and now I'm hearing st least two or three aircraft flying around up there as well. There seems to be no other info here or from the BC Wildfire Service (not really surprising given the holiday). I can't see or smell any smoke down here in the neighbourhood and hopefully it's nothing major but the level of activity up the hill does have me a little concerned. Does anyone with a better view see anything nasty up the mountain?

It's probably just a coincidence. I don't see anything right now.

Central Okanagan Search and Rescue have assisted in air lifting an injured mountain biker to hospital from the Smith Creek area. More details to come.

Hope they're okay. The trails up there can be pretty steep and difficult even on foot. Glad it wasn't anything more serious.
