Even though Alberta's current woes cannot be completely blamed on the NDP....Notley's band of merry socialist will only accelerate the downward spiral.
I do feel for our neighbors....and anyone in B.C who thinks this wont negatively impact us here is dreaming.
I hear what you're saying but with what is going on with the Liberals here in BC one has to wonder what it will take to provoke change in the way they are doing business. Even the most staunch Liberal in BC has to admit that this government has been doing a terrible job in some aspects of their term of terror. The NDP in Alberta are new kids on the street with over 40 years of past government to sift through. I would not wish that job on my worst enemy. Wouldn't it be great to be a fly on the wall as they are looking through some of those books.

It's the NDP, so as a fly this is all you would hear:
"what's that?"
"It's a balance sheet"
"Ohhhhhhh....and what do all of those numbers mean?"
"Top half is assets, bottom half is liabilities and equity"
"Ohhhh sounds really complicated...and what's that?"
Exasperated sigh...."It's an income statement"
"Ohhhhh....and what do these numbers mean?"
"You can't be serious...that's revenue and those are...argh, I can't do this..."
"Ohhhh oh....you are giving me that frowny face again, like when I asked you what a deficit was"
"Yeah, this is almost as frustrating, believe me"

I know you can't help yourself but even a jacka$$ has to admit that the 40 years of the previous government in Alberta finished poorly, arrogantly and to the detriment of the Alberta people who paid their wages.

and even a jacka%% should be able to admit that jacking spending at a time when revenues are falling is not the solution to the previous government. Of course the previous government had to go. And if that idiot Wild Rose leader hadn't crossed the floor, she'd be premier right now, instead of the giant dumpster fire of a government that Alberta has now.

Actually, the Conservative government in Alberta was a spendaholic nightmare. The opposite of cut and whack. And now the new team of NDP boneheads that have taken over are even worse. Cut and whack would be a novel idea in Alberta, since no one has done that since the days of Klein.
OK, so we already know, thanks to previous idiotic NDP provincial governments, and the Red Tories in Alberta, that tax and spend doesn't work, and only is still adhered to by brainless people who don't learn from history. So you are saying "cut and whack" doesn't work. So what do you propose? Cut and spend? Tax and whack? What way works George?

More malfeasant behavior from the Alberta NDP. No surprise.

Alberta NDP accused of using party event to sell government access
Alberta’s NDP government performed a rapid-fire about-face in the house Thursday over accusations it was selling access to Premier Rachel Notley and her cabinet.
Government house leader Brian Mason, facing questions from Wildrose member Jason Nixon, first defended an upcoming NDP party event in Calgary that promised access to Premier Rachel Notley and her cabinet for a $250 party donation.
“It’s an opportunity to meet all members of the NDP caucus,” said Mr. Mason.
“It’s not an attempt to sell access in any way.”
But just seconds later, Health Minister Sarah Hoffman, apparently having been alerted to the actual wording of the invite, stood and labelled the invitation offside.

And now Caterpillar is laying off 1,100 Canadians. Notley should be ashamed of herself.
