Urbane, does it trouble you a bit that virtually all of your cites are from bizarre far-right sources like The New American, and are written by right-wing nutjobs like Alex Newman who have absolutely no background or education in science?

I'm just trying to wrap my head around the idea that when it comes to science, you have more confidence in right wing nutjob writers, than you do in scientists.

If you discovered that you had cancer, would you see an oncologist and seek the best current medical/scientific advice as to how to treat your illness, or would you call in to a right-wing radio show for that advice?

It just doesn't make a lot of sense to me that you are trying to disprove science with balderdash.

Why would it trouble anyone? Instead of constantly barfing up this mantra about "far right nutjobs" etc. which seems to be a huge obsession of yours, why not explain to us why the UN was so wrong in their claim about climate refugees, why a supposed "scientific" team was trapped in ice while looking for signs of global warming, and why in 2000 we were told by so-called scientists that snow was a thing of the past? Why?? Why does someone who points out how EVERY SINGLE prediction regarding the effects of man-made CO2 has been wrong have to be immediately labelled by you as a "right wing nutjob"?

It seems to me that you are just taking the easy lazy way out. Anything that conflicts with your doom-saying agenda that you've swallowed must be a right-wing plot, as everyone unilaterally must agree that an apocalypse is upon us, that's the only thing that exists. Just hogwash.

It just doesn't make a lot of sense to me that you are trying to disprove science with balderdash.

And you are just responding to actual science with brain-washed balderdash. Speaking of brain-washed people, I found a you-tube video of Dr. Jay Cullen being interviewed by the CBC, that nuclear scientist that Urbane quoted from the "right-wing rag", the Globe and Mail.

What a flaming *bleep*. I hope he gets murdered.

5 minutes of listening to this *bleep* and I feel just great now, WHY!!! didn't I just listen to the scum f=#k in the first place? I wouldn't have spent 3 years worrying. Silly me.

When I read these quotes, all I can think is how crazy these people are. But not just because they are writing such stupid things. It's because they are actually trying to say that they know more than an actual scientist! And yet when I read your posts, I see the same kind of blind close-minded fanaticism. Not willing to even think, just attack anyone who disagrees with you. And this is why your movement will fail. That, and because you are just plain wrong.

We now have a Minister of Climate Change. It's time for evidence based decision making and listening to current science. This is fantastic.

Urbane wrote:It's a serious subject but even those who KNOW that AGW is real can see the humour in this excerpt from the article that I posted earlier:

As The New American reported earlier this year, the desperation and denial among warmists was illustrated perfectly in December. A ship full of global-warming alarmists led by a “climate scientist” went on a mission to study how “global warming” was melting Antarctic ice. Instead of completing their mission, they ended up getting their vessel trapped in record-setting levels of sea ice.

CCGS Amundsen re-routed to Hudson Bay to help with heavy ice

Worst ice conditions in 20 years force change of plans to icebreaker research program

The CCGS Pierre Radisson escorts the oil tanker Havelstern to Iqaluit July 17. Tough ice conditions in area have delayed this summer's annual resupply, and have now derailed the CCGS Amundsen from its carefully planned summer research program.

A carefully planned, 115-day scientific expedition on board the floating research vessel, the CCGS Amundsen, has been derailed as the icebreaker was called to help resupply ships navigate heavy ice in Hudson Bay.

"Obviously it has a large impact on us," says Martin Fortier, executive director of ArcticNet, which coordinates research on the vessel. "It's a frustrating situation."

During the summer, the Amundsen operates as a floating research centre with experiments running 24 hours a day. This year it was scheduled to reach North Baffin Bay.

But the icebreaker has been rerouted to escort commercial ships en route to resupply communities in Northern Quebec on the eastern side of Hudson Bay.

Worst conditions in 20 years

Johnny Leclair, assistant commissioner for the Coast Guard, said Tuesday conditions in the area are the worst he's seen in 20 years.

With only two icebreakers available in the Arctic — the CCGS Pierre Radisson has been escorting resupply ships through ice-choked Frobisher Bay — he said the only option was to re-deploy the Amundsen

Leclair did say there should be two more icebreakers headed to the Arctic in the next week, which should free up the Amundsen to return to its scientific mission.

Fortier is hopeful the season will still be productive.

"The people planning the large expeditions have a plan B," Fortier said. "We have already curtailed or either moved to a later date some of the stations and some of the areas we were suppose to sample."

There's no such thing as a good source. No matter what data or facts are presented, you can simply dismiss them as rubbish by labeling the messenger as a cook, even though it's the cooks on your side of the isle issuing death threats to scientists for not toeing the line.

If I post a left wing skeptic, you come up with some lame excuse of how he is fringe or doesn't know what he's talking about. If I come up with a climate scientist, you come with some other lame excuse about how he's funded by Big Oil. If he's not funded by Big Oil, you can search until you find some "flaw" with the guy. Maybe he's gay, maybe he's religious, maybe he's got a criminal record. There's always some lame excuse, it never has anything to do with the actual data presented.

Two words: current and science.

Let's hope they actually focus on those.

That way, if current science does support the disaster narrative created by ideologists to change public policy, we can focus on practical solutions without allowing panic to blind us to the consequences of the actions we take toward that goal.

And if current science says the disaster narrative wasn't accurate, surely it's time to shift gears and do things differently: focus on real solutions for the people and places where they're needed most right now.

Current science will help us do it right.

The only ear for your ignorance is now internet forums. Enjoy your tantrum. Nobody in positions of power care what you read on your right wing blogs. I'm so looking forward to the upcoming summit.

Should scientists definatively come to the conclusion we are not accelerating climate change I will accept their findings.

Let's see. Some of the largest and most successful and most tech-savvy companies in the world, Apple, Alphabet, Microsoft, are spending billions to go green, including building massive solar generating plants to power their server farms and factories.

I guess they're just not as smart as GBLV and are wasting their money.
