Re: Wild Turkeys?
Brushy Bill, I haven't seen 'em down on Eastside Rd in Vernon yet (and yes I think they may come down from Predator/S-Hills to Sunset Estates too!) but for the last 4 years, Remembrance Day was their first appearance of the season. After that, daily appearances (and as many as 30 at a time). Sometimes a lone straggler can also be spotted lower down, along OK Landing Road!
Funny... the other day I met a fella who said he helped release 'em with Mr. Carlson - apparently they dug in some kiddie pools for 'em too! He was surprised that they are thriving...

Re: Wild Turkeys?
There was a flock(is that what a group of turkeys is called?) of 8 or so off the sparkling hills loop trail yesterday. They were shy and moved quickly down the hill as we approached. This morning there were two on the hill behind my house when I left, and they looked quite unconcerned that I was nearby.

There were some up in East Kelowna, whenever we raised white turkeys up there usually one of two wild ones would come and join

I suppose they might be not the most attractive birds, but they are such fun to grow, so inquisitive and have some hilarious antics.
I'd say out of all the birds, ducks, geese, chickens, turkey, guinea fowl... turkeys are my favourite.

On the south side of Castlegar there is actually a sign that says "turkey crossing" tons of them!
Just an awful long drive from the Okanagan to see them.

Most of the wild turkeys I know of spend all their time posting on Castanet.

Or, when you pass 19k posts, you could be called the Top Turkey. And as much as I respect almost all of your input, and Top Turkey was tongue in cheek.......I think all of many of us waste too much time here and need to re evaluate the value of our leisure time. Seriously
