Christ the Lord Has Risen Today!

Post by pepsilover »

To PC liberals who are offended at the Christ child in a manger, I have GREAT news for you! The next time you see Him, he won't be in a manger! Sadly, if you can't handle His first appearance, you're REALLY not going to like His second appearance.

My folks went to church and I think that's commendable.

My mom went as well, she always talks about how wonderful it is and how I should go, to which I always respond... 'hallelujah'

I believe in a higher power but I don't regularly attend services anywhere. When I do, I usually find I can take some wisdom from the sermons I hear.

The story of Christ's crucifixion and resurrection is always thought-provoking for me. I did find myself in a place of worship on Sunday morning, and I thought the pastor summed the whole thing up excellently.

Can someone explain why he rose from the dead, briefly showed himself and then disappeared?

Christians believe that Christ had served his purpose (or rather, God's purpose for Him) on earth, and was then called to Heaven to sit at God's right hand. Why God did this and not something else is not explained, though I'm no expert on scripture.

Christ has not disappeared, he is still with us in the form of the Holy Spirit.

Really ?
Because, that's not what Christianity teaches at all.

Jesus Christ is NOT the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Trinity is actually taught as god having three personages.

The Father ( God )
The Son ( Jesus Christ )
The Holy Spirit

Yes, I know this. Christ in Three Persons, the Holy Trinity. What is it about my response that threw you off?

However, your post does not make sense. You state Jesus Christ is NOT the Holy Spirit, you then go on to describe the Holy Trinity which INCLUDES the Holy Spirit, Jesus Christ and Father God. Do you even know what you are talking about here?

By the way. Not all Christians buy into the trinity teaching.

It perfect sense for the millions of people who do not believe that Christ is god - and therefore is not part of the trinity.
God in three personages...not Jesus.

Still others believe that there is no trinity...that god, Christ and the Holy spirit are three separate entities.

And then there are the millions more who don't believe any of it.

So yes, despite your attempt to be rude, I do know what I'm talking about, thanks.
