Yesterday, 100km west of Edmonton it was snowing like an SOB at +1C, 100 km east of Edmonton it was 26 degrees and sunny.

Canada's fire danger on may 15th vs may 21st. Alberta got soaked with rain.

Crossover. Temperature higher than humidity. I remember that was significant for something

Crossover is "the point at which the numerical value of the ambient relative humidity is less than, or equal to, the numerical value of the ambient air temperature". This is an indication of extreme burning conditions. Having said that it has some limitations depending on other conditions, slope, hazard, wind, fuel intensity, and hazard. It is a definite warning signal for fire attack crews, extreme precautions must be taken for deployed crews and equipment.
