Hats off to those who attended this fire in difficult conditions, it was pretty hairy for awhile there. ~156 properties evacuated in the dark with downed powerlines around...no easy task. Bird dog currently sizing it up at 35ha with ugly perimeter, tanker action commencing shortly.
Special thanks to Dr. Oz for opening his doors yet again for those in need, much respect!

Re: Fire on Westside Road
I really think we should have like a preventative water sprinkler system that works like a wall of water so it stops fire... all along the residential area or perimeter of the city. I know it will be insane amount to build, but I think it is a good idea considering where we live, and what happened to the Fort Mac.
What do you say?

Re: Fire on Westside Road
I'm no expert but I think a big fire can spot several hundred metres ahead. It could easily therefore jump that sprinkler line. In fact, from where I was sitting last night, I saw the fire do this several times
I have learned that to be with those I like is enough.

Cheaper to log a swath of trees and plant green leafy ones that arent so eager to burn
