We are all born Atheists

Is there a god? What is the meaning of life?

And....FYI - atheism has absolutely nothing to do with how people fell or think about anything but gods.
It has zero to do with belief or lack of belief in ghosts, aliens, bigfoot or unicorns.
Gods, just gods.

That's all atheists have in common - they don't believe in gods.

... but some do believe in ghosts.

Because you didn't get it the first time, I find it odd that atheists can believe in ghosts but not holy ghosts.(see previous page)

I find it odd as well. But, as you have been told many times already, the only thing atheists have in common is lack of belief in a deity. So, no, atheists don't believe in ghosts. Individuals, who happen to be atheists, may or may not believe in ghosts.

What would they base their belief on without being hypocritical?

You would have to ask them. I don't share that belief. My best guess is fear of death being forever and wanting to feel our lost loved ones are still "here" in some manner.

Oh, I 'got it'...it was simply a ridiculous statement to begin with.

Try to get this: Not all atheists believe in ghosts.
In fact, not all Christians believe in ghosts either. Not all Christians even believe in your holy ghost.

Beliefs are a personal thing, therefore you would have to find someone who believes in ghosts to find your answer.

Perhaps you need to try to get the fact that it is not unimaginable that someone could believe that there's more than just this one life and one plane of existence without believing in an Abrahamic god or Jesus and a Christian holy ghost figure.

Spiritual beliefs are not always black and white Christian /atheist.

Hmmm, so if you're a Christian, you believe in the teachings of Christ, who taught about the holy ghost. Please explain how you can be a Christian and not believe in the holy ghost.

Just to muddy the certainty ....

God gene - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The God gene hypothesis proposes that a specific gene, called vesicular monoamine transporter 2 (VMAT2), predisposes humans towards spiritual or mystic experiences.

Christ actually taught about the Holy spirit, not about a holy ghost.
But, there is much debate as to whether or not that spirit was meant to be a separate entity or whether it was just the presence of god.
Not all Christians believe in the trinity.

So yes, someone can be an atheist and still believe in ghosts, spirits, and the like.

Is there a difference between the Holy Spirit and the Holy Ghost?

The Holy Spirit and the Holy Ghost both refer to the same Person. The term Holy Ghost has traditionally been used in older English versions of the Bible, such as the King James Version, which uses the term seven times.

"Person" ??? Maybe it would be smart to clarify just what the "Holy Ghost" is before you start making assumptions of how it fits into other people's beliefs. I have spiritual beliefs, but the word "person" doesn't show up in there.

"Being" would have been a better choice, and most likely what they meant.
