Gardening 2017: Fruits, Veggies, Flowers

My gardening plan this year is to garden. I didn't do much last year because for medical reasons. This year I hope to be up to my eyeballs in tomatoes.

I don't eat lots of tomatoes but I really enjoy growing them. They are the one plant that I have a never ending quest for a new strain for.

I'm once again planting various cherry tomato plants of all colours and sizes as it worked wonders for us.

I;ll stick with sungold and sweet millions, and Brandywine, Marianne's Peace and Mortgage Lifter. Oh, and some of the paste tomatoes that were so nice for canning :)

Looking for some advice:

At one of the homes I work at, there is a large area in the front yard that gets almost zero sun. Might get a wee bit in the AM, but other than that nothing.

I am wondering if anyone could recommend something to plant there that would service without any/very little direct sunlight. Flowers, shrubs doesn't really matter. Just anything then dirt would be better!

I have a spot like that, and I have used periwinkle and a couple years before some perennial grasses.

I'm loving this snow melting weather! Of course, it takes two weeks longer up here than it does for those of you down on the flat so I'm asking for your forgiveness in advance for the thoughts of envy I'll be having when you start talking about the spring bulbs poking through the soil.

The Greenery opens in less than two months!

I'm planning to have I have bigger garden this year, adding between 2 and 5 5'x5' raised beds, ish.. I could prolly build up to 8.

My intent is to grow lettuce, tomatoes, peppers and not sure what else. I have garlic already planted elsewhere. Looking for ideas! I get lots of sun and it gets very hot in the back. Southwest facing.

Any of the experienced growers have any advice on the above or other things that grow well? Any tips?
