What I am not so certain about is how big that victory will be this time. Hopefully it is close enough for the Libs to consider a new leader. Her popularity has tanked and I for one would love to not have to see her fake smile on every second ad on TV next election.

Yup, time for a change at the top. Of our government. And that's the only change we're going to get for a long time.

Beware of polls results, particularly in BC. Interesting article:

There was nowhere for pollster Mario Canseco to hide on election night in 2013. As vice-president of Angus Reid Public Opinion, he was on television offering informed commentary as voting results rolled in depicting a significantly different reality than the one Mr. Canseco had confidently predicted.

The problem for Mr. Canseco and other pollsters was that their numbers did not add up. Christy Clark had led the BC Liberals to their fourth straight majority mandate despite expectations, based in part on polls such as Angus Reid’s election-eve survey that found the NDP were ahead by nine percentage points. Instead, the NDP finished five points behind the Liberals.

Emotions ran high then, just as they are this time. And they did/are doing so at the skillful prodding of NDP strategists. Come election day in 2013 emotions gave way to reason and voters realized that the NDP's vision for BC was not one they shared. What's your guess for this time around?

A key figure in the polls is the "undecided" category. With 25% of voters undecided or refusing to say who they'll vote for it's very hard to get a handle on who's really in the driver's seat. I agree with you that emotions are running high now but come May 9th bread and butter issues will trump all else.

I guess I am sort of in the undecided in some respects. The only thing I know for sure is I won't be voting for Christy. So I guess I am pretty decided on who I won't vote for just not who I will.
Never argue with an idiot, they will just drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

I'm undecided as well. I know that I won't be voting NDP but I want to see if there's someone I can vote for other than Christy Clark. I'm not going to vote for someone who would throw away billions of dollars to cancel Site C and won't vote for someone who wants to quash the Kinder Morgan pipeline expansion. Christy Clark will win my riding of course but I'll be looking to see if there's alternative I can support.

The NDP leading in the polls is good for the BC Liberals. If it gets close to the election and the NDP are still leading in the polls, an awful lot of folks will see that and go "OMG - nooooo!" and switch from other choices.

I personally like the Green Party under Andrew Weaver's leadership - but if the BC NDP are anywhere near a position to win, I won't vote Green - will switch to my second choice Libs.

The fence-riders on this thread are impossible to fathom. If Christy Clark is indeed in your riding and you won't vote for her, and you refuse to vote for Shelly cook, even though she may very well be the best candidate in the riding, and you like Andrew Weaver but won't vote for the Green Party candidate if it looks like the NDP is in a position to win, then you'll vote for Christy Clark even after you vowed you wouldn't.......well, what does that say about you? (I won't say what I think it says because my comment will get deleted. It will probably get deleted anyway.)

No fence sitting. It is quite simple, have seen the BC NDP in action and can't responsibly vote except against them when necessary. As I said before, long past time for the BC NDP to die a natural death to give room for more viable alternatives.

I can understand how some people just can't vote Liberal under any circumstances. I get it. I think that you should be more tolerant of those who can't vote NDP under any circumstances. One of two people will be premier after the coming election and it will be Christy Clark or John Horgan. My clear preference is that John Horgan NOT be the next premier but I still have a choice in my own riding. I might just vote Green even though I disagree with many of their ideas. It would send a message to the Liberals (i.e. time for Christy Clark to go) and a message to the NDP (i.e. move over - get out of the way). I'm still looking at my options. We'll see.

But Shelly Cook is with the NDP correct? Then by definition that makes her the worst candidate in the riding, by a country mile. Why are we even talking about this?

Urbane goes for Liberals..Conservatives..Greens?
Hmmm..

John Horgan is probably the best leader the NDP ever had.
So what' stopping you?

I only see a more desperate Liberal party with as you say, "a lot of baggage".
