Of course that $60,000 was either used to fund anti-NDP ads directly, or found its way into the BC Liberal Party's campaign funds, although the latter would be illegal, and would come under review in the current RCMP investigation of the BC Liberal Party donation scandal.

The BC NDP Opposition has pledged to stop the practice of grizzly bear trophy hunting if it wins the upcoming provincial election.

Of the 56 grizzly bear populations in BC, nine are classified as threatened. Environmental Reporting BC says since 1976, an average of 297 grizzly bears are legally killed by hunters each year. A 2012 report by the Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations estimated there were around 15,000 grizzly bears in the province.

Wrong. NDP said they will allow grizzly hunting if the hunter removes the meat from the bush and not just the hide. So says the Greens, too. The only party pledging to ban the hunt in any area is the Liberals who have said they will ban the hunt in the Great Bear Rainforest because of the potential for conflict between hunting and the bear viewing industry.
