Re: Libs a no show at forum
Liberals have jobs, not time to sit around having whine and moan sessions, for the benefit of cranky retired NDP supporters.
It was good to note that the independent candidate displayed some common sense though.

LOL - they're committed to the needs of their union masters. That's all.

Or the hand covering the mouth was covering a yawn?t one point during the forum, B.C. Conservative candidate Chuck Hardy singled out a person in the crowd, who he thought was laughing at him.

I'm certainly willing to agree that they should be committed.

Re: Libs a no show at forum
The Liberals have nothing to say on this and BC can't afford another term of their economic, social, and environmental recklessness. The Liberals seem to think child care spaces are the only issue and that $1,100 a month in addition to the highest housing costs in Canada is ok.
The Greens are the only ones who showed a full slate of candidates. The NDP are missing how they will pay to eliminate MSP premiums and that their $10 a day childcare plan is to be implemented over 10 years, when it will be too late for today's families -- the NDP platform is only costed over 3 years! The Greens propose free childcare and early childhood education. They will shift MSP to the income tax system to eliminate administrative costs and make it more fair -- those who make more pay more, those who make less pay less.
They also have the strongest measures to cool speculation and flipping of the housing market, the drivers of the affordability crisis.
The Greens plan has been praised by economists as being most comprehensive of the three parties and will get results they promise within a four year term.
It's nice to finally have a voting option with a coherent platform that takes care of people and the economy because it's based on evidence based policy, not a patchwork of donor interests and ideologies.

Who will pay for the free childcare?
And why is it more fair that higher earners pay more for MSP?
Higher earners paid to educate themselves, work harder/longer hours, pay substantially more taxes, and make sacrifices to provide for their families.

Polls are showing Greens are pulling votes from both BC Liberals and BC NDP, so there's no vote to split. Voting for a party that actaully has ideas you agree with is called democracy.

Re: Libs a no show at forum
If I were a BC Liberal candidate, I'd be too embarrassed to show up, too. Christy never shows up for these all-candidate forums because she's an educational light-weight. Up until she lost her seat in Point Grey, kicked Ben Stewart out of his West Kelowna riding, and ran in a byelection in the only area that has been Social Credit/BC Liberal ever since WAC Bennett roamed the OK Valley, she was a perennial loser.
Every time she opens her mouth she puts her foot in it. Look what happened at her little photo-op at that supermarket in North Van today........or was it yesterday? And that ridiculous threat to the US? The woman is a legend in her own mind, and B.C. (and Canada) would be a lot better off if she kept her big mouth shut.

That's actually much more of an NDP trait. Just ask Adrian about 2013.

NDP candidate Carole James and the Green Party candidate show up for a candidate forum on mental health in Victoria, but the BC Liberal candidate is a NO SHOW!

Yes, continuing to win elections, over and over again, is very embarrassing.

Re: Libs a no show at forum
If BC Liberal candidates, across BC won't bother showing up to all candidate forums, how badly do they want to get elected, or re-elected? BC Liberal candidates attendance at these forums reflects their lack of attendance in the BC Legislature, showing up and sitting only 36 days out of 579 days!
