Fire them or say goodbye to social programs

Post by oldtrucker »

Just think of all the suffering... elderly care, healthcare, persons with disabilities, every social program you can think of that if not already wrecked-it will be. BC has the highest poverty rate in Canada, and not by a little-it's way, way at the bottom.
A balanced budget? Leading Canada economically?(BS) At what cost? Social programs-that's what. This place is the province of corruption and deception thanks to the BC Libs.
May 9th Fire them!

And all the NDP could hack up was John Horgan and the Greens are so freaking new to everything and everyone.

I'm at a loss as to why EVERY North American election has gone this way, No clear choices. The awful of the Awful up for grabs.
If Putin stopped, he'd be saving Russian lives as well. Never thought the right would have a field day but June 24/2022 it is.

Sounds like someone else has been reading alternate statistics, and drinking the NDP kool aid.

The only social programs the NDP care about are union sponsored think tank trips to Cabo.

If you really want to see our society hurting, vote for the NDP and see how much money people have left to donate to charities, after everyone earning over 60K has to pay huge tax increases. Or do you think charities, foodbanks, shelters, etc. are going to be just as successful raising money when people have less to spend?

So far every indicator, is that the NDP promises are going to be funded by going back to 1990's failed methods.

If you don't believe me, go check statistics Canada for yourself, and see how BC did insofar as disposable income went.

Horgan has already said that to him middle class is 60K-70K earnings per year, hence anyone above that gets the privilege of paying more taxes, and not only that, since he's jacking up corporate rates as well, plan on spending more for products as well, because one thing you can count on, any increase in cost to a corporation, gets passed on to the consumer, just as will the $15hr minimum wage.

Oh come on now... say good by to all social programs? That's a little unrealistic isn't it?

I'm sure AdvantageBC will still serve its purpose. Look at the great coverage it's bringing to BC investment opportunities.

http://money.cnn.com/2016/10/12/news/co ... raud-mafia

It started more than 20 years ago when a young Canadian banker stumbled upon a golden opportunity.
The bank she worked for had shut down the accounts of a number of direct marketing clients because of the suspicious ways they were making their money.
Rather than staying at her banking job, Rosanne Dronsfield (now Day) used her connections to create an entirely new payment processing business that would cater to clients like these and help them access bank accounts wherever they wanted to do business.

Turns out PacNet is a member of AdvantageBC, a secretive tax credit program.

Colin Hansen, a former provincial finance minister who helped expand the program’s tax incentives in 2010, is president and chief executive of AdvantageBC. He defended the group’s involvement in the tax-break program. “On all issues, we are fully accountable to our members, which is where that accountability should be,” he said in an email.

Right, cause when it comes to accountability of taxpayers money, who better to be accountable to, than the recipient of the cash.

The tax breaks favor foreigners in other ways, too. Companies can receive refunds on real estate activities with foreigners, including mortgage loans on property in Canada for international buyers. Conducting the same domestic activities for Canadians would not qualify for the refunds. This has raised concerns that the tax refunds may encourage banks and other companies to prioritize foreigners over Canadians in Canada’s overheated housing markets.

Awesome. Just :cuss: 'ing awesome. I was actually thinking I might vote for the better candidate this go round, but no. I'm voting against a party with the sincere hope this party is over.

The New York times article below is well worth the read.

ETA: ... but if you're too bloody lazy to read, just tell me about the 90's again.

The BC Liberal online influencers on the night shift are no better than the ones on the day shift.........(sigh!)
Social programs is a term that is as foreign as Arabic to the BC Liberals.

I'm not saying a person can choose without holding their nose, but the fact remains, as far as our best interests are concerned, it's in all our best interests to maintain a good economy, and the NDP set on jacking up taxes will put a damper on that instantly.

We already see a major bank warning investors to not put their money into BC because they predict an NDP government. We haven't even had the election yet and a bank is warning people not to invest in BC. That should be viewed as the huge red flag that it is.

I'm not going to guess who's going to win, but in regards to the OP of this thread, being worried about social programs, and healthcare, I'd have to ask this question, do you seriously think that jacking up the taxes on higher income earners, such as doctors, is going to be viewed as an enticement, to bring or keep more doctors here?

I sure as heck don't. I'm just as confident that many of them won't either. Instead of attracting more, we may well end of chasing away some of what we have.

One thing is for sure; no matter who wins, they will all be imbecilic according to whoever wanted the other party to win.

If you want to see just how tough you really are? Get involved in a leadership role with a political party.

Okay I did an edit and got rid of "all".Newly sanitized.
Most socially developed nations like Germany ,France heck even maybe Latvia have higher taxes than us.That's why we in Canada as a whole have a lower standard for social programs. If the NDP or whoever have to raise taxes in BC to save the trainwreck that is happening now ,then so be it.I would rather pay more tax than watch my friends,family,neighbours,countrymen/women suffer anymore.Strange how the richest seem to avoid paying any.Lowering taxes to attract business works only in theory. In reality money tends to stick close to the holder(s),and society does not see a proportional amount injected back into the system which ultimately funds social programs.
I guess one has to ask am I a capitalist,or a socialist? Ask yourself this -would I be happy with my own mother in a massively understaffed care home?If I needed healthcare and could not afford to go to a private clinic...what would I do? I lost my job,and I am on social assistance, but can't afford to even rent a bedroom..will I become homeless tomorrow?
I could write a book on watching people suffer from the cuts to social programs. If the NDP are elected, the economy won't unravel if managed properly. If the BC Libs win,the economy won't unravel either, you just won't get that cancer diagnosis soon enough ,that's all.
BC Libs or NDP. Capitalist...or socialist...

I did get involved in the role you recommended and you are correct Mexi Cali, it is very difficult.Only do it if the party is big enough and can afford to pay you :cuss:

The BC Liberal supporters on here appear to be very healthy orphans. If they had a family, or had ever fallen ill, they wouldn't be so callous about the lack of social services in B.C.

There you go with that assuming again.

I raised a family of 9 and I've had health issues, including having a hip replaced, MRI done, and daughter had a tumor removed. I'm content with the service I got and so is she. I waited six months for the hip, and two months for the MRI, frankly expecting that it would be a lot longer. How high do you figure a person's expectations should be when they pay just $75 a month for healthcare?

You strike me as one of those people who goes to the doctor, and acts like you're his only patient, then get all bent out of shape if everything you figure should be done, isn't done instantly, since there's others ahead of you who have been patiently waiting. It's generally the ungrateful that are the biggest complainers I've found.

I have relatives in the US, and believe me, they wished they had our health care.

Any more incorrect assumptions you need addressed?
