Yes, Old Techie, I'd like to address your assumptions. I happen to be one of those lucky British Columbians who has rarely had any reason to see a doctor except for yearly check-ups (touch wood). But in my line of work I've met many people who are not so lucky, and it is they who rely on the social programs that are no longer funded by the BC Liberals. Many folks just cant afford to pay out of pocket for everything that's now not covered by MSP. And every year, the BC Libs are adding to the list of those things while they have no trouble paying the bloated salaries of the health Authorities' administration.

I'm not the one mired in assumptions.

Since you are troubled about executive salaries though, I hope you are just as troubled by the bloated salaries going to BCTF administrators, a number of whom who don't even have a territory, but thanks to questionable backroom deals they still draw six figures, while their minions keep telling us everything is about the children.

You can't blame that one on the Liberals. That's also something you won't see George starting a thread about either. [icon_lol2.gif]

Let's back up about 24 hrs and read 'Drip_Torch's post again. He/she mentioned a NY Times article that told us, among many other things, that the BC Liberal foreign investors tax credit program has actually created 300 jobs of the 13,000 that they told us it would.

Also, our old 'friend' Colin Hansen is the CEO of Advantage BC. I think this deserves an independent investigation, don't you?

For the record, it's Mr. Torch, but my friend calls me Drip.

I was wondering if anyone was going to read that article? For good fun and full effect, you should read the CNN money link too. Then give this one a glance as well. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-c ... -1.4091272

It's fairly clear to me. The libs are good for the economy, forget that crap about LNG - I'm certain they all have - it's all about stashing offshore cash in the real estate market. It's all good if you're in, but we're leaving a load of people behind for the benefit of a few.

Off the top of my head, I seem to recall provincial property tax revenues are running about three times natural gas royalties.

I remember AdvantageBC, seem to recall it being born in the after glow of Expo 86, to leverage a whole bunch of new opportunities. I also, oddly enough, remember the 90's. I could go to work for three different helicopter companies, the province, and fill in the odd bit of down time on film projects.

I guess if I sold real estate for a living I'd look at the 90's differently, but I always a fair day for a fair wage kind of guy - so the 90's were good to me.

Lol... I'm guessing a few too many open threads tonight - eh?
