Ya. Like I said before. Wet spring = big lush grass growth = drying of said grasses = grassoline

We cleaned out the vegetation from our back alley wood fence for the same reason. Smokers still throw their butts around like no one matters and the "grassoline" seems to be a butt magnet.

In 2003 the last measurable rain was in May and a usually wet June did not materialize. Busy fire season all over the south of the province.

Think we had some rain in June as that was when the lake level started to take off but not much if any really since.

The Chilcotin plateau (eg. Puntzi Mountain) has had a total of 0.2 mm of rain this month. That's why it's been extreme fire danger for over 2 weeks while we haven't yet hit extreme. They already have a campfire ban in place.

Kelowna and Williams Lake have had about 10 mm and Penticton about 19mm this month. Williams Lake is extreme though, but that's largely because of the drier May. We will also be extreme by the end of the weekend.

There's a large fire burning on the east side of Harrison lake, you can see the smoke filling up the Fraser valley on this webcam. BC wildfire has it listed at 30 hectares.

Supposed to be a hot week for most of BC on top of the already very dry conditions.

This is a better map. It shows the valleys and such.

14%? That's SUPER high. Kamloops is less than half that.
