Now at 132,000 hectares. By the end of the day, it will be the largest fire ever recorded in BC west of the Rockies.

There must be a better place around there to park a helicopter.

The fire is now more than 25% of the size of PEI!

More cariboo evacuations and JT won't match funds for the Red Cross efforts to support families.

The fire is now 145,542 hectares, that's over 359,000 acres. That's more than 1/4 the side of Prince Edward Island.

Just looking at the latest satellite frames. Looks like the fire in this area exploded this afternoon

The CRD is evacuating the Gang Ranch and approximately all areas west of the Fraser river and south of the Chilcotin river as far west as Alexis Creek.

areas east of the Fraser are on alert because of both Elephant Hill and Hanceville. If those two fires ever merged, that would be one monster of a fire. Not going to happen given there are no trees within 20 km of the Fraser to speak of. Plus, they are still like 90km apart.

Thanks for that link Glacier. I see this bulletin includes the Gang... That'll be brutal if it makes down that far....

Quite a bit of the upper part of the red zone has already burned....
