Does anyone have the online scanner. I have a coworker at work whose husband is trapped on the other side of the hwy where the fire is. They are having to take the logging road to get out.

Looks like winds are pushing it North east. The smoke is clearly visible from Vernon.

Try the north Okanagan or Kamloops Fire on this link. They sometimes share left channel

Far as I know no one is trapped. Philpot road is being evacuated out the far end towards Lake country. Other end of 33 is heading out towards big white and through mccoullough road to Kelowna. Helicopters are dumping water pretty steady flying over our farm. Fire on close enough we can see flames easily. Winds are whipping up big time and swirling around from all directions. It's a bad one folks. Fire crews are on it with the winds they are battling it hard. Haven't seen any retardant planes yet and our power is out so I don't know how long I can keep posting. Will doe my best to keep you updated.

Stay safe Barney Google - prayers for all concerned. Fire looks massive from my viewpoint.

Crews up here are doing an incredible job. Amazing. It's a tough battle.

Keep in mind, MODIS isn't exact, but here's what the first shot looks like

Crews are pushing the fire away from the hwy and structures. So far we understand they are having some success.
