Anyone know if we are allowed back home if we go in to work? I am thinking they will only let local the residents through but not sure if I should pack an overnight bag. :132:
How old would you be...... if you didn't know how old you were?

With fire being unpredictable, I'd pack one no matter what.
As WW3 develops, no one is going to be dissing the "preppers." What have you done?

In any normal year, it's a pretty big fire. This map shows only about 15% of the province, but 80% of the fire activity, you're looking at the 1st, 2nd, and 5th largest fires in BC history here.

Of the 600+ fires in BC this year, Philpot is currently the 49th largest.

Crazy question no one wants to contemplate I'm sure.

Did Philpott Road not have a landslide? Will this fire make slopes further unstable? Loss of vegetain and all? I hope the geotech engineers will be looking into this asap.

Yes. A couple of the Philpott family died in that accident, IIRC.

This fire is in a separate side valley that is not home to a flood-prone creek, as the landslide valley was.

Is water action a sole hallmark to landslide activity? I thought deforestation and de-vegetation were hight up there too.

I see more people are being allowed back in, slowly. A great relief to many.

Barney Google, any personal up dates for us? :D

All the fires went almost a week without activity, but things are starting up again in a big way. On the upside, Philpot only has 1 new dot today.
