Not sure yet but there is activity at the base in Penticton. Heading North.
Why use a big word when a diminutive one will suffice.

I just saw a plane head into the smoke,,probably the spotter..

Winds in Peachland 13 gusting to 28,,hum. around 15%,,temp 35 ish,,,,no way to feel good about this ! Crank those tankers and bombers up please.

Just came back from Summerland. Could see the smoke. It is VERY windy out there. Not good. I agree, get the air support out early.

BC Wildfire map shows a new fire on Garnet Valley Road, west across the lake from Okanagan Mtn Park, and closer to Summerland than Peachland. Is this the same one?

ETA: The updated map now shows the fire north of that location.

Confirmed. Visual from my buddies house. Can see the smoke definitely near Summerland. Also see a heli in the area.

A fire burning 7.5 kilometres southwest of Peachland, which is now being called the Finlay Creek fire, is currently estimated to be 10 hectares in size.
