Even more likely that they're CL-415's The 215 was the original radial-engined version while the 415 is the updated version with turboprop engines. Amazing machines designed and built in Canada specifically as dedicated fire-fighting aircraft rather than being converted from some other use.

They could be CL-215T

Cascade Aerospace, Canada, offers CL-215 to CL-215T engine retrofits using the Bombardier kit and Pratt & Whitney Canada PW123AF engines and is currently the only conversion kit installer in the world.[3]
Cascade is Conair.

Since there was no lightning today, would anyone object vigorously to a conclusion that this fire was human caused? It makes no difference if it was a smoker, some moron who has violated the campfire ban or an equally stupid person[s] riding their ATV or dirt bike through the tinder dry grass or someone parking their vehicle with hot exhaust in dry grass. What kind of person figures the request that people stay out of the back country doesn't apply to them? This Finlay Creek fire has serious potential.

Re: Big Smoke South West of Peachland
The previous poster probably referred to the "Buffalo's" as the 215's or 415's as seen on Ice pilots, and BUFFALO Airways perhaps ? Regardless, they are quick and efficient, as long as the %$#$ little pleasure boats STAY OUT OF THEIR WAY (as just reported on Castanet) , how stupid can boaters be...No...don't answer that ;-)

Smoke is, by far, less right now than 45 minutes ago. Crossing fingers they get a handle on it soon. Not much daylight left. Still have the 2 Convairs and 2 Electras refilling constantly.

Yep. Look just to the right of it and you'll see a tiny little plane. It's a Convair or an Electra.
Not really that tiny.

- and to the right of that, just left of center is an even tinier plane - the bird dog.
