Time for Alternative Transportation
This city needs Uber and other alternative transportation methods. If they continue to build less parking, they need an efficient way to get people around town with less vehicles on the road. Taxi's are one method but just like we can't rely entirely on fossil fuels we should also not rely on one type of service. Taxi's, Uber, that electrical vehicle service along with transit are good ways to move the city forward.
Plus how can Kelowna call itself "Silicon Valley of the North" without having one of the largest tech companies actively working here.

The bridge needs a substantial toll, need to more or less force people to work and shop where they live instead of traveling across the bridge repeatedly

by that logic toll everything and keep everyone in their towns. No shopping for outside 1km from your house.
Great thing about Canada is we are free to go where we want how we want and to shop anywhere we want.

Uber is coming. Don't know if it will solve any of the problems though.

I agree that's ridiculous - so much for a good portion of Kelowna workers that live in West Kelowna.
Truths can be backed up by facts - do you have any?

More workers = more funds to reinvest in infrastructure?

And where would all the teachers, doctors, nurses etc. work in the meantime?

Uber was suppose to have come to Kelowna by the end of 2017. Now all I read about are the problems they are having.

Every mode of transportation has problems, taxi's have problems, buses have problems, trains have problems and so dues Uber. Its giving people the options so that helps people commute better, have less vehicles and even carpool.
Also, I agree with tolling the highway. People living in the west bank are paying taxes to the base there while people are paying taxes in Kelowna. This causes an imbalance, either both sides need to agree to work together and combine funds, or maybe tax towards the imbalance.

Very serious problems for a company that hasn't even got here yet.

west bank is in another part of the world. A good portion of West Kelowna residents work and shop in Kelowna supporting both cities.
