Has anyone tried Herbal Magic and LA Weight Loss with success? How about TOPS or Weight Watchers?

I haven't personally tried any of these. I just try to stick to the healthy diet and exercise. After reading many nights and actually talking to fitness people, i now know what is best for me.
I do have some friends that are in Curves and really do enjoy that. They like the atmosphere and people. Good luck!

I went the Herbal Magic route a year and a half ago. I lost 20 pounds which was my goal. I have managed to keep 15 off. It is quite expensive but I think that was my motivation to keep going. I shelled out that money and I was going to lose the weight no matter what. They offer alot of support and having to track your food intake and weigh in with someone helps keep you on track.

There are also some online communities/forums where people weigh in and report to and support each other.
What works for me now that my metabolism seems to have slowed is three small meals each day and a snack between. So essentially five meals a day each with a little protein and fruit (berries or apples usually)or vegetables--lots of vegetables, particularly raw ones. Also, I tend not to eat in the evening. And alas, quick carbs are limited. I don't have to plan the carbs, as they manage to find there way in to my meals. Vegetables, particularly green ones are good. (Watch carrots, squash, yams, beets, potatoes, peas and corn --they add too much carbs, or sugar.)
Drink lots of water and exercise, even a couple short walks each day, to keep you metabolism charged up. Watch salt intake --- salt is in everything prepackaged!
Don't starve yourself just eat modest amounts, rather than denying yourself the foods you love. When you eat something you know isn't helpful to weight loss, enjoy it. Trick is not to treat yourself too often and overdo it when you do. Never give up on yourself and be the size you are meant to be. (Which might just be different than the size you WANT to be!)
Anyway, this is what works for me. It might not be the answer for you.
Going to a supportive group such as WW, LA Weight Loss or Herbal Magic might be good as an incentive to get you started and on track. Once weight-loss habits are formed and you see some results, it's easier to stick with it. Good luck to you.

It's possible to do all the right things and still get a bad result.

LA Weight loss may be expensive to alot of people, but my question is....how much are you worth? I have been at LA for 8 months, lost close to 40 pounds and have had excellent support form the staff at LA.I don't follow instuctions very well
,but I know that it works for me. I have some great friends that have been going to WW for as long as me and MAN have they done terrific heck of alot cheaper but they are both great at following instructions and have amazing self control. Not soo much me but hey, the days still keep coming. Good luck finding whatever works for you

I have done WW and lost 15 lbs, which was my goal, but have gained it all back due to me not staying on with their maintenance which I should have done at the time...I am like you with needing the support as I lack self disipline to do it myself...
I have heard that both LA Weight Loss and Herbal Magic run around $800 to start, but have also heard good things about the results...WW is $15/wk or you can pay for a 12 week program as well...I guess its all about how much you want to lose and how serious you are about losing it...
I also know that Herbal Magic you pay for supplements to help your weight loss and they are not that cheap either...Then there is Jenny Craig, which you pay for your actual meals every week so that is another way to control your eating...The ads with Kirstie and Valerie seem to show that that program works...
As far as the internet goes, there is a site http://www.sparkpeople.com and it is a weight loss/healthy living site that you can track daily what you eat and do for exercise....I know someone who has used it and lost 15 lbs in 8 weeks which is a safe weight loss for that amount of time...I think that is the secret...
Good luck on your quest...
