Was Jesus a Carpenter?

Post by averagejoe »

Does anyone have any information on how it was determined that Jesus was a carpenter?

Image

The Bible doesn't say anything about him being a carpenter or other line of work, but Christians say that their Savoir Jesus the Christ was a Carpenter. How was that determined?

I'm doing some research and would like to ad more information that I have and also see if any Christians or others have any good reliable information regarding him as being a Carpenter.

He was a carpenter at 30 but at 32 was building his ministry. Maybe the carpenter is a metaphor.

Mark 6:3 King James Version (KJV)

3 Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him.

The Bible calls him a carpenter and it was apparently a family business.

Yes, These carpentry skills were used when Jesus built the first Church in Avalon/Glastonbury in Britain when he was youth and young man during the lost years between the ages of 12 - 30.

So the Holy Bible and ancient British Church history both cover this.

Ancient book works from Elvan of Avalon who’s book “De Origine Ecclesiae Britannicae” written in 180 AD who was schooled at the School of Joseph of Arimathea in Glastonbury writes about Jesus and his Great Uncle Joseph of Arimathea (Youngest Brother to Mary's father) being in Avalon/Glastonbury and Jesus building the first Wattle Church. This fantastic information from ancient sources of Jesus being in Britain in his youth.

Also written in the Vishnu Purana that Jesus had visited Wiseman in Nepal in the Himalayans.

Old books of India call Britain the Sacred Isles of the west.

Isaiah and other Biblical books tell of the Islands to the west and Islands of the sea that were west of Palestine.

And the British Isle were know in ancient times as the Sacred Islands.....

Gotta love ancient writings....

Joseph of Arimathea and the boy Jesus sail up the Brue River to Glastonbury, from the banner of the parish church of Pilton, 6 miles east of Glastonbury.

Much is written, many legends, much folklore of Jesus and his time in the Cornwall area during his youth...

And Jesus was a sailor
When he walked upon the water
And he spent a long time watching
From his lonely wooden tower
And when he knew for certain
Only drowning men could see him
He said "All men will be sailors then
Until the sea shall free them"
But he himself was broken
Long before the sky would open
Forsaken, almost human
He sank beneath your wisdom like a stone
And you want to travel with him
And you want to travel blind
And you think maybe you'll trust him
For he's touched your perfect body with his mind

England's second National Anthem after God Save the Queen.
Talks about Jesus being in England...

Song Jerusalem
By William Blake (1757-1827)

"And did those feet in ancient time

Walk upon England’s mountains green?

And was the Holy Lamb of God

On England’s pleasant pastures seen?"

The unofficial 'anthem' of England from the poem written by William Blake. A tribute to the generations that have gone before us to preserve that 'green and pleasant land' for 'England & St. George!'

Van Morrison song about Jesus being in England...

Summertime in England

The contemporary troubadour Van Morrison has put the legend to music in his song Summertime in England...

...Won't you meet me down by Avalon
In the summertime in England
In the Church of St. John...
Did you ever hear about Jesus walkin'
Jesus walkin' down by Avalon?

Van Morrison, Summertime In England, from the album Common One
