(5:13 a.m. Sunday 29)
Orange bladders are up on parts of Sutherland and the creek is roaring by! Still on the rise though!
and, the homeless squirrels have now taken up residence elsewhere since their trees where cut down. :-X
Stored vehicles in underground parking are being stocked with pine cones... [icon_lol2.gif]

^ Be safe.

Reaaaally hoping that the banks hold downstream.

A bunch of old big trees are painted for removal on Pandosy by Sutherland.
I think they were marked yesterday.

Like I said earlier, this could backfire big time once the trees are removed..... 3 words: creek bank erosion

Very possible, I figure they are going by "dammed if you do, dammed if you don't". Likely they want to avoid potential blockages through falling trees, but that is just my personal assumption.

Exactly
Of course every Spring run-off a little more property will be lost to bank erosion.

I suggest that the majority of the trees that were removed were Willows, they do shed a lot over the season. The root balls are being left in place so that there is minimal soil disturbance along the banks of the creek. Should hold us over for this year and next.
I don't know, I am just suggesting that this might be the thoughts behind the "pruning". Maybe TreeGuy could chime in here and give us his thoughts?

I drove down Enterprise yesterday, they were building a Dyke along the road.

Noticed Mill Creek breached its banks just before Enterprise and Hwy 33 lights.

Thanks OldTrucker, I drove past there today and definitely noticed a change in the flow. It is impressive how fast this changes.
