A Houston police officer bought groceries for a man whose were stolen when he passed out in a Walmart parking lot.

Officer Kirsten Koryciak was off duty but working an extra shift at a local Walmart on June 11 when she spotted a “groggy looking” man who let her know he’d suffered a diabetic episode in the parking lot. As EMS was tending to him, his groceries were stolen.

Koryciak said after talking to the man she realized he was on a fixed budget and didn’t have money to buy another round of groceries. So, she stepped in and bought them for him.

“I offered to buy his groceries to get him some food, because he was diabetic and I knew he needed to eat,” Koryciak said at a press conference.

With $25 of her own money, Koryciak bought him vegetables, lettuce and oatmeal.

“I just didn’t want to see that young man suffering,” she said. “It’s part of my job to care about people.”

Koryciak, who said her father suffers from Type 1 Diabetes, said she understands how bad the disease can be.

“He wasn’t having a great day. He wasn’t feeling good,” Koryciak said. “If you see somebody being mistreated or taken advantage of, say something. You have to treat people like they were your own family… how you want to be treated.”

A World War II hero, Major Bronislaw ‘Grom’ Karwowski, turned 94 in March. As his final act of bravery, he gave away his granddaughter Joanna at her wedding. He ignored his health concerns to walk her down the aisle to a waiting groom overcome with emotion and gratitude.

Two days later, Karwowski passed away, receiving a flood of tributes as a national hero of Poland.



He had miraculously survived capture by the Nazis as a prisoner of war, and imprisonment as part of one of the largest resistance forces of the war. Now, in his fading health, he summoned his fortitude and determination to walk down the aisle in his military gear covered in medals he received for his bravery.

College Student Invents “Water You Can Eat” After His Dehydrated Grandma Ends Up In The E.R.

Watching his grandmother get rushed to the ER unexpectedly was a major wake up call. He decided to come up with a surefire solution: water that is able to be eaten. Jelly Drops are Lewis’ brainchild and we are beyond thrilled to see what he has come up with. Since they are designed to resemble candy, the dementia patients are attracted to them in a more natural way.

Patients may find it difficult to enjoy the same food and drinks as they have in the past but these drops are truly a godsend. When Lewis first offered the candies to his grandmother, he says that she consumed 7 within minutes. This is the equivalent of a full cup of water. In most instances, it would take a great deal of convincing for Lewis’ grandmother to consume the same amount of water in a conventional manner.

His creation has already taken home some major awards. The coveted Dyson School of Design Engineering DESIRE Award for Social Impact has been bestowed upon Lewis for all of his hard work. Additional research and trials are slated to take place in the not so distant future.

A North Carolina couple whose wedding was rescheduled due to Hurricane Florence have made sure their flowers won’t go to waste.

The couple, along with their florist, donated the floral arrangements to patients at Atrium Health Levine Cancer Institute in Concord, WSOC reported.

As each patient finished their chemotherapy or infusion treatment, they were given their pick of the arrangements.

“Anytime anyone does anything nice for someone who’s going through cancer, it’s wonderful,” said patient Patricia Riser. “And flowers, of course, are just great. And everybody, everybody loves flowers, and I love flowers, too.”

Something I have always wanted to do but know my jaw would break from over-grinning.

A few days ago, Bishop Vesey’s Grammar School Rowing Club in Birmingham, England, came across a red rose along with a note pinned to a lake’s gate that read the following:

“Please can someone throw this into the lake for me? My late husband’s ashes are in the lake and I can’t get to to the lakeside in my wheelchair anymore and gates are locked—have to drive back up north tonight. Thank you x”

It’s only too easy to ignore a request like this one, but they didn’t. Instead, they threw the rose into the lake, as instructed, and then posted photos on Twitter with the caption, “This note was left on the gate at the water this afternoon. No name or number left but whoever you are, rest assured your rose is in place in the middle of the lake.”

An anonymous customer recently spent more than $93,000 to pay off roughly 400 layaway items at a New Orleans Walmart.

And on Tuesday, that customer was revealed to be New Orleans Saints and Pelicans owner Gayle Benson.

The Saints confirmed to multiple news outlets Tuesday night that Benson, the widow of longtime previous owner Tom Benson, paid off the layaway items for unsuspecting customers at Walmart's store on Tchoupitoulas Street ahead of the holiday season. WWL-TV in New Orleans reported that the payments totaled $93,502.

"This was a gift from Mrs. Benson for the holidays," the Saints told the television station in a statement.

One the brilliant acts of selflessness that is imprinted in my mind is when "Spiderman" Mamoudou Gassama lifted that kid in France off the balcony.

One reason I say selflessness is because this fellow was in France illegally. He could've been deported for the fame he got. Yet he climbed those floors from the outside of the building and did what he did.

On Wednesday, July 11, tragedy struck the home of Dakota and Ream Nelson. The parents of seven, ranging in age from 1-16, were working (but mostly playing) in their Ashton garage when Dakota went outside to put some tools away. Five minutes later he returned to find 38-year-old Ream lying on the ground. She was blue and not breathing.

Dakota immediately began CPR and yelled to their 11-year-old to call 911. Ream was rushed unconscious to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls and doctors determined her brain had been without oxygen for more than 20 minutes.

Three months later, on Sunday, Sept. 23, Ream passed away.

Dakota is now left to pick up the pieces as he’s a single parent and working three part-time jobs, including one as a Latter-day Saints Seminary teacher at North Fremont High School. It’s been a challenging year but he says he’s counting his blessings.

Firefighter with brain tumor given final escort through hospital on way to donate organs.

Heart-wrenching video of a Colorado firefighter being escorted through the hospital halls by his pregnant wife and fellow firefighters while en route to donate his organs has gone viral after his firehouse shared it on Twitter. South Metro Fire Rescue identified the fallen hero as 31-year-old Cody Mooney, and revealed that he had been fighting an aggressive brain tumor.
