#WalkAway Movement Gains Momentum as People Leave the Democrat Party in Droves


The #WalkAway campaign began on Facebook after a handsome, gay hairdresser from New York posted a video last month explaining why he was walking away from the Democrat party.

ccording to an article last Thursday in the Epoch Times, some five million people on Facebook and YouTube have seen the groundbreaking video showing a “very handsome gay man” who describes his awakening to the inanities of liberalism and the Democratic Party.

“Once upon a time, I was a liberal. Well, to be honest, less than a year ago, I was still a liberal,” begins Brandon Straka, the unlikely face of the new “silent minority” of Americans.

“I reject a system which allows an ambitious, misinformed and dogmatic mob to suppress free speech, create false narratives, and apathetically steamroll over the truth,” he says. “I reject hate.”

“These are the reasons why I became a liberal. And these are the same reasons why I am now walking away.”

Straka published his original #WalkAway video on May 26, and since then his life “has been overtaken by a tidal wave,” the Epoch Times reports.

The movement has been especially successful because its spokespersons have not been the sort typically associated with conservativism. Young and old, black and white, men and women, gay and straight—the campaign seems to elude stereotypes and pigeonholing.

There is panic in America on the left as they see liberalism, socialism and communism being pushed onto them. Especially Millennial's and Blacks. Black's are awakening and realizing they have been used by the left for so many decades.

President Trump on the other hand has done more for Black Americans and cared for them than 8 years of Obama.
And are realizing what he has done for them.

Good comment, well of course it was started by a gay hairstylist realizing that people were being used by the left to help and try in keeping the left in power and he wanted nothing to do with it so he walked away. I'm sure the military wing of the Democrats antifa won't like that. People are realizing that the liberal, socialist, communist utopia doesn't work.

I agree but when the two biggest names in the Democrats Clinton and Obama start pushing the works of Alinsky the waters start to get muddy.

Especially when Mrs. Bill Clinton did her thesis on Saul Alinsky one of the biggest leftist extremist. Great point!

Exclusive: Democrats lose ground with millennials - Reuters/Ipsos poll

The online survey of more than 16,000 registered voters ages 18 to 34 shows their support for Democrats over Republicans for Congress slipped by about 9 percentage points over the past two years, to 46 percent overall. And they increasingly say the Republican Party is a better steward of the economy.

That presents a potential problem for Democrats who have come to count on millennials as a core constituency - and will need all the loyalty they can get to achieve a net gain of 23 seats to capture control of the U.S. House of Representatives in November.

Young voters represent an opportunity and a risk for both parties, said Donald Green, a political science professor at Columbia University in New York City.

“They’re not as wedded to one party,” Green said. “They’re easier to convince than, say, your 50- or 60-year-olds who don’t really change their minds very often.”

Terry Hood, 34, an African-American who works at a Dollar General store in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and took this year’s poll, said he voted for Democrat Hillary Clinton in the 2016 presidential election.

But he will consider a Republican for Congress because he believes the party is making it easier to find jobs and he applauds the recent Republican-led tax cut.

“It sounds strange to me to say this about the Republicans, but they’re helping with even the small things,” Hood said in a phone interview. “They’re taking less taxes out of my paycheck. I notice that.”
