Off another site;

"The wildfire burning on Gottfriedson Mountain, 24 km west of West Kelowna, has now grown to an estimated 100 hectares in size.

According to the BC Wildfire Service, the fire is expected to continue growing quickly and aggressively. "

Appears to be right alongside some form of access road. Very interesting how many "spot" fires appear burning upwind of the fire line - of course wind directions could easily have changed prior to this photo being taken.

According to the satellite hot spot map it looks like it's burning immediately south of Bear Creek FSR.

Wasn't there another fire up that way not too long ago? Can't remember the name and not suggesting any association, but...

From that map it looks like it's close to running into the old gottfriedson fire regrowth, just to the east.

Friends just finished packing up family keepsakes and mementos at their cabin at Hatheume Lake and just left. Forestry worker an hour ago told them that they are very worried that the fire will hit the Lake before morning and that they should get out asap.

Hot spots from Natural Resources Canada today: http://cwfis.cfs.nrcan.gc.ca/interactive-map

Looks like fire is definitely around Windy Lake, glad I fished it last week.
