LOL. I know. You have to pick between which evil is lesser. The white people who will get you all drugged and raped, who wipe out the bison, and wipe out family from disease, or chose muslims who will not get you addicted, and not kill the bison, but enslave and/or behead everyone down to the absolute last native. Tough choice.

You mean here in Canada? Did I miss someone getting beheaded by a Muslim today? Was a Muslim jailed for enslaving someone?
I've been busy today, must have missed that.

Yes, you missed it. 400 years ago, boats filled with muslims instead of white people settled in Canadallah, wiped out everyone not Muslim. Just like other Muslim countries.

Oh I think I know the story.....but I think you got the culture wrong, here I'll remind you. I think I posted this in the climate change thread as it caused a blip in CO2 levels because of the massacre and genocide.

The study, conducted by researchers at the University College London (UCL), found that the arrival of European settlers killed nearly 56 million indigenous people over the course of roughly 100 years, causing large areas of farmland to go abandoned and reforested.

So weird huh? 56 million natives, each with their own hectare of crop. Seems like an extremely weird hypothesis. The population of the americas isn’t even known during the 1400 to 1600... lots of estimates from 8M up to 112M and by 1650 it was about 6M. The same time, populations around the world are growing, and other cultures are farming so you have to know what is happening in the whole world at that time. The change is so super tiny it would be impossible to detect. Most CO2 graphs barely show any change in the last 1000 years... not much more than 5ppm here or there of and most warming is accomplished in the first 20ppm. 5ppm lower is insignificant and adds nothing to the little ice age of that time. Real scientists tell us there is uncertainty in the ice cores. Would you expect 50M people to die, and 57M hectares are reforested all in a short 40 or 50 years? The CO2 dip is way too short in duration compared to the little ice age.

https://agupubs.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1029/2011GB004247

“3.3. Abrupt CO2 Decrease in ∼1600 A.D.

[21] We draw attention to the rapid decrease of CO2 and CH4 concentrations at ∼1600 A.D. (Figures 2 and 3). The WAIS Divide CO2 record shows a drop of ∼7 ppm between 1570 and 1600 AD, then a broader decline until ∼1650 AD, while the Law Dome Record shows a sharper decrease that starts slightly later in the Law Dome chronology. The midpoint of the rapid CO2 decrease occurred between 1580 to 1590 A.D. in the WAIS Divide record. The timing of the midpoint is slightly earlier than that of Law Dome by ∼5–20 years, but the difference can be explained by age uncertainty of ∼10 years [Mitchell et al., 2011], local variation of CO2 in ice and imprecise estimation of the experimental uncertainty. We note a small variation of 2–3 ppm during 1600–1650 A.D. after the initial drop of ∼7 ppm in the WAIS Divide ice. However, it remains unclear if the variation is really a signal of atmospheric CO2 change or experimental uncertainty and/or local variation of ice core quality. We also note that the apparent local minimum in the Law Dome CO2 record at ∼1600 A.D. is not clearly observed in our WAIS Divide record.”

Oh so you didn't read the actual peer reviewed study? I guess they used 119 population estimates to arrive at a pre Columbian population 60.5 million natives.

From 119 published regional population estimates we calculate a pre-1492 CE population of 60.5 million (interquartile range, IQR 44.8–78.2 million), utilizing 1.04 ha land per capita (IQR 0.98–1.11).

https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/a ... 118307261#!

You can relax tho, they were just testing out a hypothesis :D ..........see,

Human impacts prior to the Industrial Revolution are not well constrained. We investigate whether the decline in global atmospheric CO2 concentration by 7–10 ppm in the late 1500s and early 1600s which globally lowered surface air temperatures by 0.15∘C, were generated by natural forcing or were a result of the large-scale depopulation of the Americas after European arrival, subsequent land use change and secondary succession. We quantitatively review the evidence for (i) the pre-Columbian population size, (ii) their per capita land use, (iii) the post-1492 population loss, (iv) the resulting carbon uptake of the abandoned anthropogenic landscapes, and then compare these to potential natural drivers of global carbon declines of 7–10 ppm.

If I could find this man's novel or even one of 20 of them, I'd take one with me. Or is it best not to ask about freedom of writing/speech/attending literary events? :135:

I did cover my hair in St. Sophia, Turkey and Dome of the Rock, Israel, so, maybe.

Remember folks, no bare arms, legs and covered hair would be best if are inside the actual area of worship in the Mosque.

No no no, I didn't consider it my perogrative to be trying to sell "women's rights" inside their mosque.
Covering the body and hair is just considered respectful of their place of worship.
I did not and do not confuse the two.

Gotta give credit where it's due. Mashzoub was a brave soul if he wet his toes in the same waters as Salman Rushdie, who, as you will recall, had to hide for years to avoid death by allah's acolytes (henchmen, murderers, assasins, cut-throats...you choose)

This poor fellah was shot so full of holes his remainders resembled a swiss cheese. Well beyond saving by medics.

If you don't come back I'm not going looking for you. :smt045 :smt045
