I’m wondering how many people in the North Okanagan are aware of this happening.

While Rempel acknowledged the release involved “a level of danger to the public,... yadda yadda”

Add Geoff Rempel on the "danger to Canada's safety" list

I'm assuming JT will be there shortly offering an apology and handing out a cheque?

They have agreed to keep him in detention until a hearing is held.

And that brings up my greatest fear.
If this guy is somehow found innocent and gets released back into Canadian society, what's the chances he'll sue the Feds for unjust treatment and suffering?
Don't forget, there's been a bit of a precedent set.
I'm posting this from Traditional lands of the British Empire & the current Lands of The Dominion of Canada.
I also give thanks for this ethos richness bestowed on us via British Colonialism.

Here's a thought for you...then maybe he is innocent of the charges and would deserve to be compensated for what he has gone through.

In our society people are innocent until proven guilty and not the other way around.

If on the other hand he is found guilty then he should be deported ASAP.

That’s what I always thought... (a bit off the OP’s topic and more directed to your valid point) with the new federal legislation regarding the police being able to show up at your home, etc. and able to demand a breathalyzer even after 2 hours, it seems to me that a person is guilty until that person proves they’re innocent.

See paragraph 2 in the attached link and that’s why it’s not always, ‘innocent until proven guilty’ now, imho.
