There is a little bit of overkill I must admit. It is funny to see the Green party using all those single use plastic bags. I had not thought about that. I am sure they will recycle them.

Reducing is far, far more effective than recycling.

Well especially since a lot of plastic bags are not easily recycled especially the grocery bags which you are not allowed to even put in plastic recycling.

you can bring plastic grocery bags into the recycling depots when you bring in your cans. Just so you know.

We get that. Plastics have provided meaningful benefits for food transportation and storage and notable environmentalists have shown even the carry-home single use bags are a less problematic option than paper or cloth. We have yet to improve upon plastics for food and will likely rely on them for some time, and must do our best to deal with this waste in the best way we can.

Recycling should never be used to excuse the creation of unnecessary waste. Plastics for election campaign signage can hardly be considered necessary or beneficial in any way. It's garbage, and it's high time people running for office stopped pretending otherwise.
