The way they get away with this is by having the fire rescue truck (4) people leave many times at the same time as an ambulance and most times they do not even get out of the truck. This accounts for 10-15% of their calls and takes the truck away from its main purpose fighting fires.
Now they want to have full time fire fighters at Ok Landing and how much are we paying for those that work at Predator Ridge. Try and get a yearly report on any departments from the city like pulling teeth.
Good way to save money cut the wage budget of all departments and get rid of all the extras that these unions get and I bet we could save enough to stop any tax increase.

Like, these are the ONLY two "CUPE City employees" that have been screwing "While on shift of course".

I still stand firm that the original discipline was correct.

The firefighters union then fought the termination, saying there should be no discipline because the privacy of the two employees was violated when the cameras were installed.

The arbitration board ruled that while harsh discipline was appropriate, termination seemed excessive.

One of the three members of the board concluded that termination should be the outcome.

The city says it is currently considering its options to further appeal the reinstatement decision.

The City lost and the arbitration, The City lost at the Labour Relations Board hearing. Maybe just maybe the news everyone on this forum seems to actually believe doesn't have all the facts on the case. Did everyone on this forum attend the arbitration? Read the LRB appeal? Do yourself a favour and get all the facts to a case before laying judgment. When you hear the word sex is that automatically make one think of full on intercourse? I seriously shake my head at even the comments about annual wages …… You know the posted wages include overtime right? If you really worried about overtime, lobby your council to ban all firefighter overtime and put your own house out or do your own cpr etc. I'm really surprised how not one reporter or rocket scientist in this forum has yet to ask the city for the total amount of tax dollars spent continuing to fight two losses they have already been dealt. I guess the city is always right no matter what legal systems are in place to hold employers accountable as well.
