ok still grossly overpaid when you look at hours of actual work look at a OR nurse and the years of university
and they actually work 8-10 hours a day and they make $under 100K

Grossly overpaid? What have you been out of the work force for 30 years??[/quote]

yes Grossly overpaid when u look at my comparison some ff who sits on his *bleep* 6 of 8 hours and gets 140K per year
when I know many workers that are high skilled and work 8 -10 hard hours ever day and make like 65K and they thrive quit well
a FF (all) are grossly over paid

I wondered why the chief felt the need to have a camera in his office. He says he was worried about people looking in his filing cabinet, but don't those lock? Doesn't his office door lock? And shouldn't you trust your employees enough not to go through your stuff? I can't help but wonder if he knew something was going on and planted the camera and left his door unlocked.

You're not suggesting that the amorous couple were unjustly terminated, are you? Filing cabinet drawers are easy to pick and yes, you should be able to trust your employees but obviously, geiven the breach, he couldn't.

And your opening question is answered in the attached article. removed

I expect we should see this on pornhub shortly. just takes one leaker

Not in all cases. This office is private and he submitted that he had reason to install the camera. If it turns out that he made any of the story up, different scenario. In this case, assuming he is telling the truth about the breaches, it isn't random and it had purpose.

Don't be so quick to judge.... Is Lind perfect?? Where did the last chief go and why? What really is happening in Vernon besides this story...If people want to judge they should get all facts.... Just my thoughts....

From the article;
"He reviewed the video footage and saw the two employees engaged in intimate physical activity," the decision says.

All kinds of room to judge in this particular instance.

To get fired over one of the most natural human behaviors is stupid and for everybody to make them out as the worst criminals with no shame is quite judgy. The people that are passing judgment on these two people had not been affected in any way by their behavior yep there condemnation seems to be hugely overboard. Like I always say if it doesn't affect you mind your own business

Words escape me. You can't be serious? "they obviously thought they were alone". What has that got to do with the price of coffee in Peru? Nothing. They were in a private office depositing bodily fluids on a desk

Very simple... turf them out and no pay... about as stupid at that firefighter who took the company vehicle into Kelowna for a few drinks... a few years back....
Just wonder who in the Union.. stands up for that BS... turf them also.. clean house please and soon...
These are paid ( VERY GOOD wages) who are supposed to be professionals... like *bleep* ?

Grow up. If your story about the Kelowna drinking trip is true, That was a criminal offence. This is not. It may be in poor taste to choose your boss' desk for sex but, in the heat of the moment, well! :admin:
As for the union getting involved, someone has to fight for them in the face of city hall and they pay for that union like you pay for a lawyer. Professional lawyers also engage in sex. I think :200:

Oh it's true alright; check the outcome of the story. https://www.castanet.net/news/West-Kelo ... overturned

Interesting take.... from Castanet's Letters to the Editor:

https://www.castanet.net/news/Letters/2 ... nt-too-far

I am no longer able to hold my tongue on the matter of the sad situation at the Vernon Fire Department.

As a taxpayer and citizen of Vernon, I am appalled at the current situation where the firefighters union has gone to such lengths to protect two individuals who have such poor sense of right and wrong that they believe they are not subject to termination for exercising their carnal desires in the fire chief's office.

Unions have a place in ensuring that their members are represented to management in a fair manner. This debacle is fair to no one, least of all the fine members of the fire department, City of Vernon management and the citizenry of Vernon.

To back these individuals to the degree that the union has is simply bad judgment and, in my my mind, inexcusable.

Unions must have good judgment as to when to throw in the towel for the greater good of their membership.

A freedom of information request reveals the city spent $256,993.67 as of March 2 in its legal battle with the International Association of Firefighters.

Re:https://www.castanet.net/news/Vernon/32 ... 000#327975

Interesting it only cost the taxpayers 1/4 of a million dollars and a short 4 yrs of legal fun...

No wonder we pay huge taxes for stupid things.... plain and simple... as said before turff his *bleep* and the chickie... but the union fights onward.... gotta love these situations...

Once again: the different result.

He: gets to retain his job, his $137,000+ salary, his benefits, his pension when he retires.

She: was a contract employee and not renewed, will NEVER get a permanent job with the City of Vernon.

Oh no they had sex in what they thought was a private room. Better tar and feather them hey people.?lol And instead of blaming them why don't you blame the city for going after them so hard and spending so much money that your taxes are now going to rise probably to pay for it. I got news for all of you that are so shocked by this. Half of the people could give two Hoots about what they did and wouldn't have as vigorously fought them in a court of law and Let It Go. Stop being so outraged at stupid little things in life. You might just be happier in the long run.
