NDP/Liberal Coalition

So one more reason not to vote for NDP....they are basically saying your vote is a vote to the Liberals.

Re: NDP/Liberal Coalition
Although this may appeal to Jagmeet, it may not appeal to liberals and may result in irreparable harm to the liberal brand going so far left. Although most politicians only care to be in power so who knows.

Re: NDP/Liberal Coalition
Ironic that the parties that are always talking about proportional representation are in favor of creating a coalition despite having very little in common. The liberals are closer to the conservatives than the NDP, that doesn't sound very equally representative to me. It defeats the purpose of having a minority government.

Re: NDP/Liberal Coalition
I don't like the idea of a coalition at all. Suppose a coalition happened in 2011 when Harper did not get a majority. Michael Ignatieff would have become our PM with only 26% of the votes.

The other coalition that is possible is the Conservatives and the Bloq. So if we get a coalition, which would you prefer, a Liberal NDP Green or Conservative Bloq? Do you want Quebec holding the balance of power over the rest of Canada´?

They do already dont they? As well I always think its not good to let a national party like the one in quebec to be voted into a national election from one province only.butcher99 wrote: Do you want Quebec holding the balance of power over the rest of Canada´?

A vote for Singh is now a vote for Justin Trudeau. Think about that long and hard before going to the polls.

No. Here it is a vote against Scheer. Thats why I voted NDP at the advanced poll. Last thing we need is another Conservative government to drive up our deficit (while promising to lower it) and then cut services.Carrs Landing Viking wrote:A vote for Singh is now a vote for Justin Trudeau. Look at the promises already that mostly benefit the well to do. That would be all of them BTW.

They clearly do right now with the liberals.
Did you forget our PM is from Quebec and is on the record supporting corruption in that province for political power?

Sucks to be suckered into voting early before Jagmeet explained every NDP vote was actually a vote for Justin Trudeau.

No, I will not be here on the 21st. We are all still waiting for Scheer to announce how he is going to pay for his promises. He promised he would tell us before the election. Not many days left for that. He has BILLIONS of dollars in promises that mostly go to the well off the way they are structured. And so far he has said he will look at cutting subsidies like the aid Westons got to replace old refrigeration with new greener more efficient units. (Not refrigerators btw). That amounts to 10 million dollars. So after his about $12 billion dollars in promises he has only 12 billion yet to explain how he will pay for. Plus he promised to balance the budget in 4 years so he needs now to find $30 billion in savings. Last guy to promise to find 30 billion in savings was Muronney and we all know how well that worked.
It is amazing how fast the Liberal fortunes shrank over the past few days. Strange election with many rapid polling changes up and down. The only party that has risen in the polls continuously has been the NDP. And that is only a percent and a half.
Aggregate polls have the Liberals and Conservatives right back where they were in August within a couple percentage points.

Re: NDP/Liberal Coalition
First of all, that's not what would happen, but under an NDP/Liberal coalition we know exactly what would happen - the drunken sailor spending would double or triple, no pipelines would get built because of the fanatical Green faction of the NDP that are complete lunatics, and Canada would continue to suffer as foreign investment continues to run away at Venezuelan level rates. Voting for either the NDP or Liberal in the hopes of a coalition truly is the dumbest thing you can possibly do right now.butcher99 wrote: Last thing we need is another Conservative government to drive up our deficit (while promising to lower it) and then cut services.

Re: NDP/Liberal Coalition
Most representative democracies do not result in majority governments. In fact they shouldn’t. Governments should be a mix of different parties who need to work together to pass bills. Either working with the left or right, to best represent their constituents and their differing priorities and views.
Unfortunately thanks to US politics. The system has devolved into a tribalism, where it’s become less about working together for the people, and more about working against your opponent.

Re: NDP/Liberal Coalition
Too true. Explain to all of the Conservative voters how one of the dumbest people in Canada, coupled with one of the most far left in Canada, Justin and Jagmeet, would be representing our interests at all. Instead we have to watch those two Leftists pilot Canada further into a Venezuelan-like sewer. Fantastic.Omnitheo wrote:Most representative democracies do not result in majority governments.
