Homeless in Polson Park ...really ?

Post by Tootsie »

So Jordan Hemnelgarn you're kinda upset that you might have to get up at 6:30 am when it's still dark to move out of Polson Park ???? W O W !
Really ???? Guess what …..that is the way of life and reality for so many of us ! there's nothing more I would like to do than stay in my warm cozy bed at 5:00 am when I have to get up for work (ya I know that damn 4 letter word). And and guess what - I have to pay taxes - do you????

Just blows my mind !

I like how this councilor fields it.

Here's a spot, don't like it? Then here is not for you !
Here's a thought, find one of the several positions
available doing gainful employment to step yourself
up a notch.

Doesn't take a rocket surgeon to dig and lay irrigation or prune
and clear orchards, construction site clean up.....
No end to that work here.

Sheesh....You people....

PRODUCTIVE... All they have is time on their hands. I grew up poor.. worked my butt off.. we all have problems.. us people.( ya I said it) .. choose to get off our butts and do something about it. so we don't end up like ,You people. Because we all know... getting laid off, unexpected bills, are deal breakers for a lot of us who pay rent or mortgage. We can loose everything if we are dumb. Looks like a POOR ME situation with that guy. Have a great day everyone!

I think the 2 things that really bugged me about Jordan's stance was that

- is he THAT clueless that getting up early is the way of life for many of us sleep-deprived working tax-paying citizens? WE (at least I) have to get up every morning at 5 am-do I like it ? Hell no ! I'd really prefer to not do that! And guess what - I have to prepare my own breakfast and not feel hard done by that I have to wait 2 hrs as he said till they can get any breakfast.

- this is what really bugs me. At his young age (and looks pretty physically fit) he's got it all figured out ! Sleep in, get breakfast, do whatever you want - is that the best he wants for himself?

How sad.

I feel sorry for his parents if they know that's the best your son can be.

No real surprise here.
Idea to move the homeless camp from Polson to City Hall shot down.

I thought it would have been a good move, then the powers that be have a front
row seat to the issues at hand.
A little more constructive brain-storming likely to occur more often, and with a
better handle of the issues surrounding the plight as they would be dealing
with it from the middle of it.

"I don't feel like this is a solution," says Nahal. "This is merely shifting the problem. You say we would be giving back Polson Park but then we would be taking City Hall away from the people."...…………… well damn.. cuz I JUST LOVE taking my family to city hall to play at the splash pad and park.. geeze.. Shes absolutely clueless ..

I have a few spots in mind that are large buildings with fencing around them.

First location is on the corner of 25th Ave and 41 St. It use to be called the flea dome. They could set up tents inside or outside.

Second location is the closed down hardware store just up the street. Much larger building with a huge fenced yard.

Third location the empty loomis building on the corner of 27 ave and 43st.

Fourth location old bingo hall on fairweather rd.
