Christmas...

Post by W105 »

do you buy a real tree or use a fake tree ??

are you spending a lot on gifts this yr or not ??

do you do Christmas baking or can't be bothered ??

~~~~
I use a fake tree, like the real ones but they are too messy !!
keeping my budget small this yr and only giving gifts that are practical, (no useless gifts like a radio shower..lol) my thing this yr is Grocery Store gift cards..who can't use food ??
I bake and I also give them out as gifts...make a mean shortbread :)
Fake because no matter how hard, how many times, or how carefully I vacuumed those pesky needles that fall off would get stuck in the carpet and eventually stab me in the foot.
I spend as much money as needed to get the right gift for the recipient so every year it's different. But I do have a budget.
I do baking to take the load off the seniors in the family and the juniors love the treats.
Merry Christmas :smt111
Real tree. Can't beat the smell and love going to pick one out every year!
I don't think I spend a lot of gifts. My family doesn't go crazy, so one small gift per person. Then a couple presents for the BF.
I do Christmas baking for work, and Mom sends Christmas baking every year! :)
It's 2019 and you still have carpet in yer house!!?
Real here. Fake is for people who love toxic chemicals. Love the smell of trees.
Quite the insult - no, I don't have carpet anymore and the fake tree is up more than a month so people can enjoy it. Guess there's always a scrooge in the midst.
A few years back we did about 5 trips looking for the "perfect" tree. Never found it and it was getting too close to Christmas so I convinced the "Boss" to get a fake one.
It takes me a couple of hours to get it set up and decorated but it's worth it and in the long run a time and money saver.
We spend way too much on gifts even though we always say we will cut back.
Not much time for baking but the "Boss" might get some done.
Sorry, meant to be humorous.
There's a shortage of christmas trees this year, so might make sense to have a fake one. I personally like going out with the kids to get a tree.
Getting a couple foot tall potted Alberta Spruce from a local
nursery as our tree this year.
Come spring the kidlet and I can take it out and plant it.
Merry Christmas.
K - me too - I could have come back with something nicer. We used to take the kids out and get a real tree - we made a big family day of it and everyone helped decorate. Then I decided I wanted the tree up longer than a real one could handle so fake it was. And like Bsuds said it takes a while to set up but once decorated and lit up they're gorgeous. Half the family have fake, the other half real.
Sigh of relief here when the pistols were lowered. :200:
Sufficiently advanced incompetence is indistinguishable from malice. There’s a certain point at which ignorance becomes malice, at which there is simply no way to become THAT ignorant except deliberately and maliciously.
North America faces shortage due in part to rising demand
Christmas tree lots have started popping up around the city, but Christmas tree farmers are putting out a warning: get your tree early this year.
Apparently, increasing demand, the ravages of Mother Nature and the 2008 recession have all played a role in creating a Christmas tree shortage across North America.
