Want to share your spiritual experiences?

Is there a god? What is the meaning of life?

My wife had what could be considered a near-death experience.
She was undergoing major surgery and during it her heart stopped, causing the medical staff to use the paddles on her, twice.
When she told me about it not long after waking up, she said she had the strangest sensation immediately upon waking up, something she could not put words to. And she said this before she found out about her heart stopping. The only thing she could actually describe was recalling a far-off brightness.
She had gone through surgeries prior to this one and had never experienced anything, no recollections of anything.
My thoughts, this was a reaction by the brain when signals reaching it from her heart caused it to react this way.
Btw, she has never spoken of it since.

when my mom was diagnosed as being terminal the doctor took us aside and told us that sadly she didn't have much time left and asked us if we would like to tell her or he would..we walked back into her hospital room and the first thing she said to all of us was if we could see all the angels on the ceiling..she said there's 100's of them all smiling down at her..

when my dad was dying, the week before he said that he could see his very first dog that he had as a little boy sitting wagging his tag all excited out of the corner of his eye..when he told his sister about it and described the dog in perfect detail she was shocked as she barely remembered the dog herself...

Look forward to your links.

I've already done the research over the years. I'm sure if you are interested you are more than capable of using google or youtube to find your answers. Try near death experience research.

I'm actually also curious which scientific studies support a spiritual reason for these experiences. If not scientific, I wonder how someone comes to support these claims. Which is not to say that I think it's all made up; I don't.

I'd be careful about where you research, most religious "research" on NDE's is pseudoscience nonsense like creationist "research".

Alright, I can give some names of researchers and as far I know they are not relgiously based.

Dr. Pim van Lommel - Cardiologist
Sam Parnia M.D., Ph.D
Peter Fenwick - Neurophysiologist
Jeffrey Long - Radiation Oncologist

Those are a few of the leading researchers that I'm aware of. I'm sure you can find some good stuff on Youtube.

Beliefs should conform to one's best scientific understanding of the world. One should take care never to distort scientific facts to fit one's beliefs.

I'm guessing that they're evidence that someone didn't die?

Well, he claimed scientific explanations were rubbish on the first page, so I was just wondering with all the research on nde's and neurology how could he conclude nde's were "spiritual experiences".

Just like anything in science though, nobody can use it to prove that they're not spiritual experiences. Besides, I suspect that some who believe these are spiritual experiences may not require the experience to be outside of the realm of science.

Sorta the same topic....
Anyone experience a haunting or paranormal?
Some may view my politically incorrect opinions as harsh and may be offended by them. Some think political correctness will be our undoing.
