When is it too early to put seed/plants in a greenhouse?

Post by TylerM4 »

Isolation boredom combined with food hording has me thinking that I'll build and use a small greenhouse this year to maximize garden production.

We don't have a huge garden space so this will be a small greenhouse, probably not one that you can stand in/enter.

Never done the greenhouse thing before so would like to know how soon is too soon, along with any other advice you may have.

I don't know much about greenhouses but have you started growing seeds or veggie cuttings from the windowsills yet?
What if we’re not the USS Enterprise, which realized what was going on with the temporal anomaly and figured out how to break free? What if we’re the USS Bozeman, a Soyuz-class ship captained by Kelsey Grammer and didn’t realize it?

Rona has a small greenhouse if you don't feel like buying material and building one. Neighbour has one and she loves it. Bought one for a friend 5-6 years ago and she's been using it every year.

Dance as if no one's watching, sing as if no one's listening, and live everyday as if it were your last.

Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass. It's about learning to dance in the rain.

Thanks for the suggestion. Part of the entertainment is in the building plus I have some scrap wood and plastic sheeting I can use at home.

Yep! At least I think so. Try some YouTube tutorials! You can buy seeds and plants off here on castanet in the classifieds too! Or using a tutorial or two and veggies at home you could try planting too!
Here are some guides I found, dunno how good the top one is though:

I have used as little as 2 pallets, a couple of 2x4s and a roll of heavy plastic.

It all depends upon on what you want to accomplish. I used mine for a holding area after sprouting the plants in the house. Sprouts and seedlings need high humidity and consistent warmth.

Good ???s
Sprouting takes what? 2 weeks? then they go into dirt?
Still way to cold in April unless in a structure, but may still get heavy frost til May
Veggies may get a full life cycle indoors this year
