Btw, it's Shuswap Rd.
My mistake. Best birding road ever though no matter when we've been there.
Yes it is. And some good fishing holes along the South Thompson.
Which reminds me....

Loved taking that ferry and driving the Westside Road. It was a bit of let down to get into civilization again.

From Barriere turn right to get to Wells Grey Park, or from Vavenby’s turn left.. And staying on topic, Squilax, Chase, Agate Bay, Barriere, Vavenby, and Wells Grey Park are all within the Kamloops Royal Inland Hospital catchment area.
Definitely, we've done it both ways. I want to follow Adams Lake Road all the way up some day. Excellent drive. Agate Bay Road should be spectacular this time of year.
Why by-pass Kamloops? I hate driving past all the food chains/used car lots/rail lines just to still have to make it through Kamloops.

True enough, but it’s exponentially less painful than driving 97/ Harvey just to get through Kelowna..
Turning left onto the road before going down the Monty Creek hill, I forget the name of the road right now, is a scenic drive that takes you to Kamloops.

To bypass the Trans- -Canada highway!
I personally take this route to get your place to your mom's place in Clearwater. Doing this means I do not even put 1 tire on the Trans-Canada Highway... https://www.google.ca/maps/dir/50.29933 ... 06!1m0!3e0

Not the nicest day weather-wise, but I hope he catches something. And he better have a fishing licence or he's in trouble.

It's useful if you are catching large catfish. Those things are darn near indestructible.
