Fair enough. I'm not a police-person (H/T to Justin Trudeau) so I'm not sure what constitutes a partner. All of my knowledge of partners in this context is gleaned from police and detective shows on TV and in movies. If you have more intimate knowledge please feel free to share.

I do agree that in this instance, if Heidi Stevenson had had a second officer in the car with her, it's doubtful that Wortman would have gunned her down as her partner would/should have had time to take out his/her weapon and blow Wortman away. That being said, who knows what the reaction time would have been, given the confusion at seeing a guy dressed in an RCMP uniform driving what appeared to be an RCMP cruiser. There might have been some hesitation. Who knows.

I do think that Heidi Stevenson's heroic actions saved a lot of lives. What a true hero.

It's the decals and lights and their sources that's the issue.
Those cars are all strip down and you get a crap load of vinyl and holes where equipment was bolted down and a ton of idle hours on the engine.
I think a friend of mine bought one like a Yukon or Suburban its super basic interior decor is great if you own a big dog or two

Lights are not even an issue if they're disconnected and you're not able to use them.

It already is illegal. Impersonation is a criminal offence.

That's what I posted above. Some were arguing that unless it's been used to impersonate a police vehicle, it was legal to have. Fine lines.

Now this didn't take long. Make it ALL illegal, no fine lines anymore.

looks like they've put the entire timeline together now. Fills in the rest of the blanks. I was wondering why he killed Gina Goulet, his final victim. Looks like he knew her, so it wasn't just a random slaying, like some of the others.

She may have been an old flame, a wanna-be flame or someone who kept him in the friendzone. Anything.

Imagine these people, who did not answer their door. Best thing ever not to answer their door. I wonder how much post traumatic-stress they are going through based on the "what if's" alone.

"9:48 a.m. — Police say the gunman drives south to a home on Highway 4 in the Glenholme area. The residents call 911, saying they know the shooter. They do not answer the door, and he eventually leaves."

I also wonder how much time they spent how answering inane questions with 911 about how old the caller was and other seemingly useless questions. removed I do wonder what the transcript of that call looks like.

Also, they got a photo and description of the shooters car but didn't release it for what seems like ages and ages.

I can't imagine the what if's those people are going through today.

Another odd thing, this shooting never made it to "Another Shooting Rocks the World."

RCMP say tactical officers also arrived to refuel, and there is an encounter with the gunman.

Kinda sounds like they only found him by accident. Lucky coincidence RCMP pulled into the same station.

Yes, that's it, by total accident. And he kept changing vehicles. How would anyone know?

There are just so many shootings these days it's no longer newsworthy?

The bigger the population gets, the higher amount of these events will occur. It will increase and never decrease. Not to get into firearms legislation but even if all firearms were banned and all was peaceful in the world, someone that really wants to go on a murderous rampage would get whatever they needed to do it anyway.
It has to be population related or if it isn't, what the bleep happened to society? 50 years ago, everyone had a few a few firearms in the house just laying around not locked or anything and you never heard of mass shootings. Maybe there actually were, but tech, and comprehensive news reporting wasn't really there yet.
Some may view my politically incorrect opinions as harsh and may be offended by them. Some think political correctness will be our undoing.

The more we learn the more we think that somehow someone may have told the RCMP about the souped up fake RCMP car a lot earlier.
