I love seeing these guys, but don't see them enough.
Three went over the house first, about twenty minutes late, then six at a much lower altitude and finally a tenth one.
I saw them last summer at Abbotsford. Great show.

Just heard from friends in Brocklehurst that one of them crashed taking off from Kamloops today...any news on that?

A Canadian Forces Snowbird jet has crashed in Kamloops.

Two jets took off from Kamloops Airport at about 11:30 a.m., bound for Comox, when one rose, then circled and crashed in an area near Glenview Drive. There are reports the plane hit a house and that the pilot managed to eject before the jet crashed.
Why use a big word when a diminutive one will suffice.

UPDATE: 12:10 p.m.

It is confirmed that a single Snowbird plane has crashed in Kamloops a couple of blocks from the airport.

Air Force, ambulance, police, fire crews and BC Hydro are on scene.

One person is being rescued off of a roof at this time.

The good news is it appears no one was hurt/killed.

Edited to add that it looks like 1 is dead and the other pilot in critical condition.

Lets hope he recovers.

I hope nobody got injured. It would have been nice to see them fly in Kelowna. They are just trying to cheer people up during the pandemic

Appears there were two in the plane and it injured or worse someone on the ground. Early reports seem to indicate that one in the plane didn't make it. (hope that's wrong)

From the video's it didn't look like the shoot(s) had time (altitude) to open.

Way too early to say what happened but mechanical failure is HIGH on my list.

Knowing these aircraft are 54+ years old and with this Canada wide shows, stuff does happen.

Hopefully the pilot & anyone on the ground was not seriously injured.

It seems like the pilot was trying to gain elevation and turn around before it went into a nose dive. Maybe something went wrong mechanically and he was trying to glide back to the airport? Hope everyone is alright.

This is being updated as news comes in: https://www.castanet.net/news/Kamloops/ ... mox#300255

I read somewhere (Sorry, I can't remember which news site) an eye witness saw the pilot on the roof and he didn't look like he was in very good shape. :(

The CT-114's age is irrelevant, the required maintenance on them is top notch. That doesn't mean they're not prone to mechanical failures, but I don't recall an aircraft ever crashing because of its age.

There is a picture of one of the crew members on a roof further in that update. Also, looks like there were two ejection seats that deployed, not sure if both seats were occupied though.

I read that eyewitnesses saw two people eject. (I don't know where I read it though.)
